Unfortunately, using the 16x16 favicon for the opensearch plugin didn't work for Pale Moon and even Firefox still sources the rounded 64x64 favicon. Before I furtherly investigate the issue, I am reverting #6.
UPDATE: I tried to add other random searxng instances and, surprisingly, Pale Moon shows the favicon. Then I looked at the XML plugin file: it looks like this browser does not really remotely fetches png images, but generates a data URL in base64. I have no idea why this fails with the Disroot favicon.png though, the only workaround I can think of is to replace favicon.png with favicon.svg in opensearch.xml,but I can't check this myself.
