Disroot is a non-profit organization providing services for individuals on "pay as you wish" basis. Because of this structure we see using Disroot services for commercial purposes as an abuse of the service and it will be treated as such.
These commercial activities or purposes include, but are not limited to:
As much as we discourage using Disroot for commercial activities, we also understand that some financial activities can be part of your personal life, hobbies and passions.
As a rule of thumb, you should contact us, if your commercial use exceeds your personal use, or if you have any doubts and questions about the scope of the term "commercial activities".
Using Disroot services for commercial activity will be examined per case and the decision on terminating such accounts will be based upon communication with the account holder and the type of the activities in question.
It looks fine with me, as I find that really clear.
not sure about if the solely addition. that could lead to discussions.
perhaps adding some examples or something could make it more clear and prevent discussions.
@avg_joe I agree with removing 'solely', the sentence works fine without it. I also find this wording unclear: exceeding private flea market
@muppeth examples might help but might also make it to specific, so something to watchout for.
@antilopa what's unclear with the private flea market from your pov? current clause states that managing any sales is prohibited, so i wanted to differentiate private sales. that's why i added as well the solely thingy to prohibite accounts solely created to do that kind of stuff.
should we implement this?
@avg_joe to me the wording 'exceeding private flea market' sounds like a made up termp subject to interpertation. I just didn't understand exactly what it means, or when a 'private flea market' become 'exceeding', so I assume more people won't. I guess you meant the same as saying:
trading or managing sales - either commercial or private - is not tolerated.
Would you agree with this?
@antilopa why do we want to prohibit private sales?
Ok, than I guess I still don't understand what private flea market means.
Here is how I understand it:
but it probably needs a better wording!
ahhh, only now I understand what @avg_joe meant. I think. I read 'exceeding private flea market' as one term while the idea was the 'private flea market' is oke but exceeding that isn't.. right?
However, I would remove that part fully, as it opens too many loopholes and doesn't make it clear. I'd rather say something like
If someone every now and than sell second hand items or send a freelance invoice from their personal mail, that is not a primary use. Yet it is clear you shouldn't open an account especially for the purpose of selling second hand items. We could always add 'if you have doubts contact support'.
@antilopa
exactly, that's what i meant
I'm fine with your suggestion's @antilopa
@muppeth @antilopa @fede @avg_joe what do we do with that?
I also think @antilopa's suggestion is fine.
