This issue was brought up about a year ago in the GNOME Developers mailinglist. To change the master/slave terminology sometimes used in tech, due to it's conotations.

But with the recent events in the US, several tech groups, Github, Gitlab, GNOME are reviewing the use of the term "master" in git repos, braches.
