We have noticed a number of details on the howto site in general that can be polished and improve the experience when searching, accessing and querying information.

I think we can start by gathering and categorizing ideas and suggestions in this regard.

Below there are a couple of very basic initial "sketches", that I think give the idea.

Homepage (image 1): The categories could go directly on the top bar (the most accessible and visible of the locations, in my opinion). In the footer could be the links to the guides to collaborate.

Howto's sections (image 2):

  1. The breadcrumbs could have some background color (and maybe increase the font size)
  2. The table of contents could go on the left (is it possible to make it "sticky"? I'm not sure if that's the word to describe when you move around the page up and down and the menu remains always visible)
  3. The update section could be more specific and the notice about the differences between the howto version and the current version of the software could be added at the end of the page or at the footer
  4. On the left we could add a sort of "media content box" where to list files related to the howto, so for example a video about a specific configuration, or the whole process, could appear there instead of in the middle or at the end of the text of a tutorial. Links to other howtos that might be related could also be added in this box.
