# New servers
Thanks to all the donations we've received over the past years, we're pleased to tell you that we were able to buy three new servers! These servers will replace our current ones. And since the process of deploying them in the rack is going to take a while, we want to use this moment to totally re-build and improve our infrastructure based on our last 7 years experience of running Disroot. Once the servers are all up and running we will all enjoy a greater performance. New hardware should secure Disroot's needs for years to come. We can't wait to start using them and we really hope you will enjoy them as much as we will.

As posted on the chat, I wonder if we should add more info about the servers. how much we spent, what we bought etc. Unless we want to post it on next blogpost when we start deploying. What do you think? Perhpas just a short line like:

For those of you interested in what we decided to go for we will post more details in upcoming blog posts when we are actually going to start deploying the server in production. We decided to stick with Dell servers and so we bought two Dell R640 with ssd hardware raid storage and about 200GB RAM each. Those servers will be used for 1. application server (running all the code) and 2. database server (running all databases). Third beast is Dell R740XD who's main purpose is filestorage and secondary load balancing. It's equiped with 12x14TB disk and will be responsible to provide storage for all your mails, uploads, and cloud storage. In total we have spent a significant portion of our current budget - 21.000 euros 😯

isn't this already quite a bit of information already? Will there be much more to add on the next update? I like the idea of getting into specific when deploying the servers.

So we just scrape this paragraph? I'm ok with it.

Obviously, our cash reserve have dropped considerably. So we would be really happy if you could participe in helping raise our funds again. Please, don't forget the price of a simple cup of coffee can make a difference. Don't wait for that money from a Nigerian prince to finally cash out and donate now!
Your donations will allow the Disroot project to stay sustainable, independent and be prepare in case something unforseen would happen.
