# Importing data
## CSV
[CSV](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values) files are an easy
way to import data into farmOS.
The *CSV Import* module adds simple importers for each Asset type, Log type,
and Taxonomy term type provided by farmOS modules. Template CSV files can be
downloaded, filled in, and re-uploaded to create new records in the system.
You can also see a list of all records that were created by each importer,
and easily review/modify/delete them after import.
farmOS also provides a framework for developing more specialized importers with
custom CSV column headers. See [CSV importers](/development/csv) in the farmOS
Development Guide for more information.

Geometry data can be imported into Assets and Logs in a few different ways.
