LUDICRITAL
Welcome to the source repository for LUDICRITAL, the NORMAL webcomic. Here you'll find source files, text documents, and other files pertaining to the comic and its development.
SPOILER WARNING: The plaintext files found in this repository contain the LUDICRITAL story in its current entirety as well as some miscellaneous lore-related tidbits. If you don't want spoilers, it's best not to peek at these.
What Makes LUDICRITAL Special
- Made simply / sucklessly. Uses an aliased style with a limited palette, which compresses well, and all scripts made for the webcomic are made to be generally suckless, and produce things that should last much longer than the typical JavaScript fare, if not decades.
- Free culture. The webcomic and all of its related material are released under CC0 with an additional waiver of rights.
- Has cats! Though this one is probably not all that unique...
Pages / Panels
Pages are saved in 3-page panel XCF files for use in the GNU Image Manipulation Program. They are split into layer groups for each of the pages, with layers within separating certain drawings, e.g. individual characters and speech bubbles.
Creator's Reference
The Creator's Reference (CreatorReference.xcf) contains all the stylistic reference needed for either making LUDICRITAL pages (mainly for myself, blitzdoughnuts) or for referencing off of for LUDICRITAL fanworks. It contains the main palette, speech bubble and character outline references, and some details on the type of brush used and the intended feel of the art style, alongside information about LUDICRITAL.

TODO
- GZip the XCFs like I do in blitzstuff? GIMP can still read them and they compress well due to their nature
