repos

on /etc/pacman.conf under each of the three joborun repositories there should be this line:

Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-jobo

On this mirror file if for some reason sourceforge is not working you can get the pacman databases for upgrades from here (disroot, which is alway working):

Server = https://git.disroot.org/joborun-pkg/repos/raw/branch/main/

When sourceforge is working the first uncommented line (mirror) should be:

Server = http://downloads.sourceforge.net/joborun/r

From either you can install the latest pacman and jobo-mirror, then check you /etc/pacman.conf.pacnew and /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-jobo.pacnew for the latest changes. No other binary packages are offered throug disroot (space limitation), only pacman databases, pacman, and jobo-mirror pkg.

History of issues created by OSDN's mysterious collapse 7/27/2023

July 27th 2023

No, OSDN hasn't solved their problem, or ours, and thanks to sysdfree.wordpress.org comrades they provided us with a turn key sourceforge site to upload images and use a repositories. We thank them for the entire joborun community.

So upgrade pacman and jobo-mirror and the problems will go away. Most likely, by the time you read this you never exprienced the problem.

July 26th 2023

As the osdn crisis continues now for the 17th day, and we employed this test repository we have also ammended pacman.conf to use this location instead of osdn and we also made the decision to make a pkg for our future (hopefully reliable) mirrorlist called jobo-mirror.

Except for the jobcore jobextra and jobcomm pacman databased listing our upgrades, this repository now also has a copy of the pacman pkg and the new jobo-mirror pkg. You can install them, or just install pacman which will drag the mirrorlist as dependent.

Since the new pacman.conf will be saved as pacman.conf.pacnew in your /etc directory, you must manually merge the differences for the three repositories.

A list of pkgs to upgrade will now be available within seconds of our push to git.disroot.org, no wait for mirrors to sync.

We apologize for this fiasco, we didn't expect such unreliable and unresponsive behavior by osdn.net (ex sourceforge-japan) but we use what we can, till further and better resources become available to us.

Joborun Linux

July 23rd - attempting an alternative solution

This place although meant for source repository and or tarballs of source, it is limited in capacity to the ammount of files that can be saved. Our needs by far exceed this capacity of disroot acting as a binary pkg server.

This is a repository of database files, no packages, to temporarily serve the updates for those who build from source while OSDN is down, and may be down again.
