- some buffer-smashing fixes
- progress bars are supported
- the core supplies the x.part temp filename to the GUI
- the core will supply the GUI with its PID number (useful
if you're running multiple cores)
- incoming and temp folder can be on different partitions

libbind bug, and adds logging for people who attempt to exploit
it to named. Also improves logging for named-xfer, and adds
features to ndc to attempt to preserve command line arguments
that named was started with.
All users of BIND 8 are HIGHLY encouraged to upgrade to this version.
has been a "massive public demand" that this port be unFORBIDDEN.
- Remove FORBIDDEN.
- Add a PKGMESSAGE to explain new post-install procedure, and to warn the
user that this port/package is likely to have future security issues.
- Install startup script mode 444, forcing the user to change this explicitly
to run ntop at system startup. Document this in PKGMESSAGE.
Apache runs as user "www" now, so nagios the nagios socket should be owned by

check_snmp calls snmpget without '-c' parameter, which is mandatory
with NetSNMP 5.x. Add '-c' to the command line to make it work with
both NetSNMP 4.x and 5.x.
check_by_ssh dumps core with called without -C, also usage help output
does not document -C and -v.
check_ssh plugin incorrectly parses the SSH banner.
check_ntp does not work with NTP v2. Add -n option to be able to
select NTP version.

Move ${PREFIX}/share/nagios/sbin to ${PREFIX}/share/nagios/cgi-bin as that
is the location originally used by the nagios author.

This breakage is caused because:
o struct statvfs is defined and statvfs() function is declared.
o statvfs() function is not yet implemented.
So detection of statvfs related is commented out until function will
be implemented.
include better EDNS support, the ability to turn EDNS probing off
on a per-server basis, better TSIG support, better handling
of IPv6, and various improvements to the CLI utilities like dig,
host, etc. For other improvements see the CHANGES file.
All users of BIND 8 are heavily encouraged to upgrade.
Changes to the port:
1. My patch for gid_t handling in 5.x was included in the base.
2. Make use of the new and improved MANPREFIX handling in bsd.port.mk.
3. If the user defines REPLACE_SYSTEM_BIND, we do just that.

Remove all restrictions after permission from Wendy Cartee <wendy@juniper.net>
Copy the distfile to MASTER_SITE_LOCAL so we can fetch it, it's only fetchable

Bump PORTREVISION to 1.
Remove a stray object file if it exists, prior to installing examples.
This patch is not guaranteed to be perfect for all permutations of WITH_*
options. However, it works for the default case.

- Remove all Linux references since this is now a FreeBSD native
binary port
- House the binary under MASTER_SITE_LOCAL
- Update to 0.2 alpha Build 2002061600
- Add PKGMESSAGE on the binary issue. Small excerpt of most relevant
part: "Currently, this native version is restricted to the following
FreeBSD platforms: - i386 FreeBSD 4.x-STABLE (post 4.6R Release);
OSVERSION=450006"
- Add linux- to both PKGNAMEPREFIX and binary name since it's a
Linux binary port
- State that in COMMENT
- Update PLIST to reflect new binary name

is no longer necessary. Also, create and remove directories which are
initially empty but necessary for normal mud operation.
. Take maintainership.
. Install an example of the ACCESS.ALLOW and ACCESS.DENY files and
adjust the installation process to take account of the new packing
list (which it uses).
Still to address is the issue of the mud setting up its own directory.
This needs to be addressed in the context of the server port (net/dgd).
install for the port is generated from the packing list, this
also unbreaks the port (a critical file was not installed, meaning
the mud couldn't be started). In particular:
. Don't include empty directories (these will be addressed in a
later commit).
. Don't include non-existent files.
. Do include a critical header file, namely auto.h without which
the mud cannot start.
rigorous testing performed on the part of the KDE/FreeBSD Project
over the last three weeks. Thanks to everyone who helped test!
General changes:
[1] Follow KDE2 style by moving KDE core specific macros and
the like to x11/kde3/Makefile.kde.
[2] Fix a variety of comments or miscellaneous data to reflect
that this is KDE3 and not KDE2.
[3] Account for more empty directories in the PLISTs.
deskutils/kdepim3:
[4] More #include <malloc.h> -> #include <stdlib.h>.
audio/arts:
[5] Upgrade to 1.0.1.
[6] Point at MASTER_SITE_KDE not my own mirror.
audio/kdemultimedia3:
[7] Account for the removal of the <machine/soundcard.h> symlink.
Simply point all such includes at <sys/soundcard.h>.
editors/koffice-kde3:
[8] Get rid of #include <values.h> preemptively.
devel/kdesdk3:
[9] Remove cervisia from build if building on -CURRENT due to
C++-unsafe sys/wait.h. The header is believed to have been
fixed in newer -CURRENT (>= Jun 5) but we have not tested that.
devel/kdevelop:
[10] Upgrade to 2.1.1 and use KDE 3 version.
[11] Remove a number of suggested dependencies that no longer fit.
[12] Account for where the docs for Qt went since they got moved
to fit in hier(7) better.
graphics/kdegraphics3:
[13] Turn off kuickshow by default because it depends on imlib,
which in turn depends on gtk/glib. This will be revisited
when we split up the KDE ports a bit.
games/kdegames3:
[14] Fix compile error on -CURRENT where kpat/freecell-solver/md5.h
tried to define uint32_t after sys/types.h already had.
sysutils/kdeadmin3:
No particular changes.
misc/kdeaddons3:
No particular changes.
misc/kdeedu3:
[15] Re-add the huge number of missing @dirrm's.
misc/kdeutils3:
No particular changes.
misc/kde3-i18n-* and */kde3-i18n:
For the most part, no particular changes. A huge number of I18N
message updates went into this release, though.
french/kde3-i18n:
[16] Fix build Makefile error due to tarball builder's env.
net/kdenetwork3:
No particular changes.
x11-clocks/kdetoys3:
No particular changes.
x11/kdebase3:
[17] Account for mkfontdir "soft" build-time dependency. If
mkfontdir is available, use it to build fonts.dir where
kdebase installs fonts. Otherwise, don't bother.
[18] Patch ElectricEyes.desktop to use the name of the program
that FreeBSD uses when you install the port for it.
[19] Patches for KDM merged into KDE 3.0.1.
[20] Properly fix kdm/backend/xdmcp.c string format error.
x11/kdelibs3:
[21] Support the KDE3 version check to make sure no one
tries to install KDE2 then KDE3. The 'kde-version-check'
target is centralized in x11/kde3/Makefile.kde.
[22] Remove patch for kdeprint/configure.in.in.
[23] Add patch to fix critical icon loader bug.
x11/kde3:
[24] Add Makefile.kde for centralizing KDE core-specific macros
that don't belong in bsd.kde.mk.
x11-toolkits/qt30:
[25] Mark broken on any XFree86 version < 4 due to packing list
related problems if we tried to support XFree86 3.
[26] Error out if the user has Qt2 installed already.
x11-wm/kdeartwork3:
[27] Add USE_MESA to explicitly support the 3D screensavers.
[28] Re-add a large number of missing @dirrm's.

- remove NO_PACKAGE; the customization isn't done at build/install time
- remove the old patches & configure script; use cricket's own scripts to
tell it our version of perl.
- revamp the install so it matches the docs more closely:
* things go in ${PREFIX}/cricket
* scripts go in cricket/cricket-${PORTVERSION}, cricket/cricket symlink
created for convenience
* cricket/cricket-{config,data,logs} created
- create a "cricket" user to run the collectors
- use pkg-message instead of ${ECHO}'ing things in post-install
