ports. All of them are End of Life (no security updates) since a loooong time.
As they are not the default, I decided to go with a short expiration date (one
month). The maintainer of the few ports which depend upon the f8 infrastructure
is informed to take action (update to the default f10 infrastructure, or to
deprecate).
The X-Server has been patched to the latest 1.7.X series, drivers
and fonts have been updated to the latest versions. This update includes
some components from Xorg 7.6 with a lot of improvements, and it seems
that the performance is much better than the old version. Also this
Update fix build issues with clang and binutils 2.17.50 in current,
remove 6.X gruft and de-author pkg-descr.

Due to a flaw in binutils 2.15, function names can conflict with ELF assembler
directives on PPC64 systems. As a result, it is not possible to have functions
named things like 'text' and 'data', one of which GTK 2.0 has.

Allow both to compile against Tcl-8.5. Both will now need to
be upgraded to branch 4.x -- a much more involved undertaking.

- Correctly depend on QT components (via bpm infrastructure)
- Clean up Makefile a bit and rearrange pkg-plist for better readability

descriptions to FreeBSD ports. It promises both easier addition and
maintenance for Cabal-based ports.

This release brings initial PackageKit support, Upower (replaces power
management part of hal), cuse4bsd integration with HAL and cheese, and a
faster Evolution.
Sadly GNOME 2.30.x will be the last release with FreeBSD 6.X support. This
will also be the last of the 2.x releases. The next release will be the
highly-anticipated GNOME 3.0 which will bring with it a new UI experience.
Currently, there are a few bugs with GNOME 2.30 that may be of note for our
users. Be sure to consult the UPGRADING note or the 2.30 upgrade FAQ at

The Intel drivers was patched to work with
the new server. The drivers for Vesa, NV,NVIDIA and
