The I2C Control Register bits RFDAIE and RFFIE were mixed up. In addition to
this fix, this patch adds the missing bit DRSIE for completeness.

The driver uses be16_to_cpu and cpu_to_be16 to convert data in SMBus word
operations from chip to host byte order. However, the data passed from and to
the SMBus word API functions is in host byte order, not in chip byte order.
Conversion should therefore use swab16 instead of be16 to change the byte order.
Replace driver internal word conversion functions with SMBus API functions to
solve the problem.

Convert this PCI driver to use the comedi PCI auto config attach
mechanism by adding an 'attach_pci' callback function. Since the
driver does not require any external configuration options, and
the legacy 'attach' callback is now optional, remove it. The
boardinfo is also not needed now so remove it also.
This also allows removing the icp_multi.h header completely.

The ipoctal devices can be uninstalled from the ipack_driver_unregister()
call as the device model calles the bus's .remove() function for each device
registered by the driver and it will execute the .remove() function of the
ipoctal driver.

We check the CRC and store the result of the check in struct ipac_device.
A warning is emitted if the check fails. However we leave it to the
IPack module device to refuse to initialize due to a bad CRC. I have seen
otherwise good modules with bad CRCs.

Reading the ID space at 8 MHz is always supported. Most carriers will
boot up in 8MHz mode. Still, play it safe and ensure we are operating at

While registering the thermal zone, it is required to have the cooling
devices already setup, so that the .bind callback can succeed.
Due to that, the driver code needs to be reorganized so that we first
setup the cooling devices then the zones. This way we cope with the
right thermal framework initialization sequence.
This patch changes the order of the thermal zone initialization,
so that we create it only when the cooling devices are available.
It also adds some defensive checks for the config data, so that
the callbacks are ready for calls when the data is still not
initialized.

While registering the omap thermal zones we need to
properly specify TC1 and TC2, as long as the proper
passive polling period and monitor period.

The comedi core always calls the 'do_cmdtest' function before it
calls the 'do_cmd' function. The 'do_cmdtest' for this driver calls
i8253_cascade_ns_to_timer_2div() to validate the cmd->convert_arg.
This call sets the dev_private 'div1' and 'div2' values needed to
program the 8254 timer. There is no need to call the i8253 function
a second time in the do_cmd function.

All of the comedi drivers that support the 'cmd' callback also
require a 'do_cmdtest' callback. The do_cmdtest validates the
comedi_cmd before it is executed.
"Step 1" of each do_cmdtest does a trivial validation of the

drm/i915: assert that the IBX port transcoder select w/a is implemented
Unfortunately I've failed to notice that these checks are not just
called for the port that is about to be disabled, but for all (which
makes sense for an assert ...), and the WARN missfired when disabling
another pipe than the one with the dp port.
Hence also check whether the port is actually disabled.

The 'is_valid' variable in the private data is only used in the
detach of the board to determine if the pci9111_reset() function
can be called. That function only requires a valid dev->iobase
to work. Use that for the check instead and remove the unneeded
variable from the private data.

Convert this PCI driver to use the comedi PCI auto config attach
mechanism by adding an 'attach_pci' callback function. Since the
driver does not require any external configuration options, and
the legacy 'attach' callback is now optional, remove it. The
boardinfo is also not needed now so remove it also.

The analog input subdevice is the same for all boards supported by
this driver. Remove the boardinfo just open-code the values in the
attach function.
Note: the only other board that could be supported by this driver is
the ADLink PCI-9111DG board. This board has 12-bit analog inputs
instead of the 16-bit inputs of the PCI-9111HR board. Unfortunately
these boards share the same PCI vendor/device id.

The 'ao_resolution' in the boardinfo is not used. Remove it.
Rename the 'ao_resolution_mask' to 'ao_maxdata', this information
is copied to the ao subdevice 'maxdata'.
Remove the PCI9111_AO_RESOLUTION* defines and just open-code the
maxdata in the boardinfo.
Remove the mask of the output data in pci9111_ao_insn_write(),
the comedi core insures that the data is valid.

Remove the unnecessary comments.
Cleanup the function to follow the comedi standard for digital
outputs. The 'mask' does not need to be checked, the comedi core
will make sure that it is valid based on the subdevice data.
The outputs only need to be updated if the 'mask' indicates
something is changing, otherwise we just need to return the
current "state" of the outputs.

HID subsystem merged through the IIO tree because we have some
ABI changes outstanding (some in this set) which will effect them.
The HID sensors specification covers an extremely wide range of
sensors so we will probably be seeing lots more elements of this

2) Some general abi cleanups to use the utility function
iio_push_to_buffer and to drop the used timestamp parameter
from the same call. For a long time timestamps have taken
the same path as all other channel types into the buffers so
it is good to clean this out.
3) More ADC driver support for Analog Devices parts in the form
of one new driver and some additional supported parts via current
drivers.
4) An increase to the accuracy of the calibration scale for
the isl29018 driver.
So a mixed bag, but all good additions to IIO.

'struct omap_video_timings' was updated w/ a 'bool interlaced'. Without
a matching update in omap_connector, this field could have undefined
values from the stack, which isn't quite ideal.
Update the fxns to convert omapdss<->drm timings structs, and zero-init
'struct omap_video_timings' when it is declared on stack to avoid issues
like this in the future.

There is a possibility of QH overlay region having reference to a stale
qTD pointer during unlink.
Consider an endpoint having two pending qTD before unlink process begins.
The endpoint's QH queue looks like this.
qTD1 --> qTD2 --> Dummy
To unlink qTD2, QH is removed from asynchronous list and Asynchronous
Advance Doorbell is programmed. The qTD1's next qTD pointer is set to
qTD2'2 next qTD pointer and qTD2 is retired upon controller's doorbell
interrupt. If QH's current qTD pointer points to qTD1, transfer overlay
region still have reference to qTD2. But qtD2 is just unlinked and freed.
This may cause EHCI system error. Fix this by updating qTD next pointer
in QH overlay region with the qTD next pointer of the current qTD.

I discovered I couldn't get sierra_net to work on a powerpc. Turns out
the firmware attribute check assumes the system is little endian and
hence fails because the attributes is a 16 bit value.

The Microchip vid:pid 04d8:000a is used for their CDC ACM
demo firmware application. This is a device with a single
function conforming to the CDC ACM specification and with
the intention of demonstrating CDC ACM class firmware and
driver interaction. The demo is used on a number of
development boards, and may also be used unmodified by
vendors using Microchip hardware.
Some vendors have re-used this vid:pid for other types of
firmware, emulating FTDI chips. Attempting to continue to
support such devices without breaking class based
applications that by matching on interface
class/subclass/proto being ff/ff/00. I have no information
about the actual device or interface descriptors, but this
will at least make the proper CDC ACM devices work again.
Anyone having details of the offending device's descriptors
should update this entry with the details.

uses only one register to handle period setting for both channels. So

APWM mode is enabled while configuring PWM device. This was done to
handle shadow & immediate mode update of period and compare registers.
However, leaving it enabled after configuring will cause APWM output on
PWM pin even before enabling PWM device.
Fix the same by disabling APWM mode after configuring if PWM device is
not running.

If kernel is compiled with CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING the
validator raises an error when a multiplexer is removed
via sysfs and sub-clients are connected to it. This is a
false positive.
Documentation/lockdep-design.txt recommends to handle this
via calls to mutex_lock_nested().
Based on an earlier fix from Michael Lawnick.
Note that the extra code resolves to nothing unless
CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCK_ALLOC=y.

This patch adds config I2C_DESIGNWARE_CORE in Kconfig, and let
I2C_DESIGNWARE_PLATFORM and I2C_DESIGNWARE_PCI select I2C_DESIGNWARE_CORE.
Because both I2C_DESIGNWARE_PLATFORM and I2C_DESIGNWARE_PCI can be built as

Commit e9da6e9905 replaced custom consistent buffer remapping code
with generic vmalloc areas. It however introduced some regressions
caused by limited support for allocations in atomic context. This

For some subplatforms the default, pre-allocated pool for atomic
allocations turned out to be too small, so a function for setting its
size has been added.
Another set of patches adds support for atomic allocations to

The ad5300/ad5310/ad5320 is a family of single channel DACs with a SPI interface
similar to the ad5601/ad5611/ad5621 but use a different shift factor for the
data word.
While we are at it also reorder the device part numbers in the ad5446 driver
Kconfig to be ordered alphabetically.

The Silicom Bypass Network Interface Cards (NICs) are network cards with
paired ports (2 or 4). The pairs either act as a "wire" allowing the
network packets to pass or insert the device in between the two ports.
When paired with the on-board hardware watchdog or other failsafe, they
provide high availability for the network in the face of software
outages or maintenance.

Move the remaining defines in this header to the c file. Nothing
in the header is needed by any other file.
While moving the defines, reorder them so that the bit defines
are associated with the register they go with. Also, convert the
bit defines to bit shifts to make them a bit clearer.

Absorb the cnt_reset and cnt_config helper functions. They are
now both just single line routines.
Remove the printk noise about "Invalid instruction length".
Fix the return value, the value should be the number of data values
used to perform the instruction. The GPCT_RESET instruction only
has one parameter.

The counter subdevice of this board is a standard 8254 compatible
counter/timer. Instead of open-coding the 8254 timer io, use the
helper functions provided by 8253.h.

Rename reset_board() to me4000_reset() so it has namespace associated
with this driver. Change it's return type to void, it always succeeds.

Only set the dev->irq when the request_irq is successful.
Use the dev->board_name for the name passed to request_irq.
Change the printk messages into dev_warn().
Make sure free_irq is called in the detach.
