This package installs the AMD/ATI Linux binary driver in a manner suitable for use on NetBSD/i386 with XFree86 4.3 and above. This package enables multi-head support. This package does not enable accelerated GL support.

This package installs the AMD/ATI Linux binary driver in a manner
suitable for use on NetBSD/i386 with XFree86 4.3 and above.
Reworked the packaging of the AMD/ATI proprietary drivers to specify both stable and unstable releases. The unstable driver can now coexist with the stable driver, and will not be picked up by default. ati-xfree86-bin: Reverted from 8.40.4 to 8.38.6: 8.40.4 is unstable and can cause machine lockups and shouldn't be the default. ati-xfree86-bin-init: removed, and merged initati functionality into ati-xfree86-bin-unstable ati-xfree86-bin-unstable: This packages the 8.40.4 driver. This package provides initiati, which uses the stable driver to initialize the card and thus depends on ati-xfree86-bin.

This driver enables dual-head support (with or without Xinerama).
This package does not enable accelerated GL support, nor DRI support.
Add cautionary note on possible hangs and reference to wip/ati-xfree86-bin-init to DESCR and MESSAGE. Clean up some naming issues in Makefile.

This package installs what is deemed to be a stable version of the
driver, which may not correspond to the latest version released by
ATI. The latest ATI driver, which may be not as tested and thus
less stable, may be available as ati-xfree86-bin-unstable.
