Consider adding something like following lines to /etc/newsyslog.conf:

${NGINX_LOGDIR}/access.log 640 7 * * BZ  ${NGINX_PIDDIR}/nginx.pid SIGUSR1
${NGINX_LOGDIR}/error.log  640 7 * * BZ  ${NGINX_PIDDIR}/nginx.pid SIGUSR1
