Import mathomatic-10.9b from pkgsrc-wip. Packaged by Bruce J.A. Nourish, and slightly modified by me. Mathomatic is an automatic algebraic manipulator that is self-testing and strictly follows the rules of algebra. Mathomatic is an interpreter that can: - Solve, simplify, and compare algebraic equations. - Combine simultaneous equations. - Perform basic calculus operations. - Generate the sensitivity formula for one or more variables in an equation. - Act like a double precision floating point programmable calculator. - Perform complex number and polynomial arithmetic. - Compute the Greatest Common Divisor of numbers or polynomials. - Generate "C" code from equations.

Update mathomatic to 12.6.1. Major changes: - Added alternate command names. - Don't allow imaginary numbers in integer only expressions. - Made poly_gcd_simp() do its job in one pass. - Add "set autosolve" option. - Make entry of "=(expression)" into "0=(expression)", instead of being an error. - Add fraction command. - Made simplification default to polynomial simplify. - "replace constants" command now approximates constants with roots. - Fixed a floating point accuracy issue recently introduced. - Other bug fixes and improvements.

Over 1200 files touched but no revisions bumped :) RECOMMENDED is removed. It becomes ABI_DEPENDS. BUILDLINK_RECOMMENDED.foo becomes BUILDLINK_ABI_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS.foo becomes BUILDLINK_API_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS does not change. IGNORE_RECOMMENDED (which defaulted to "no") becomes USE_ABI_DEPENDS which defaults to "yes". Added to obsolete.mk checking for IGNORE_RECOMMENDED. I did not manually go through and fix any aesthetic tab/spacing issues. I have tested the above patch on DragonFly building and packaging subversion and pkglint and their many dependencies. I have also tested USE_ABI_DEPENDS=no on my NetBSD workstation (where I have used IGNORE_RECOMMENDED for a long time). I have been an active user of IGNORE_RECOMMENDED since it was available. As suggested, I removed the documentation sentences suggesting bumping for "security" issues. As discussed on tech-pkg. I will commit to revbump, pkglint, pkg_install, createbuildlink separately. Note that if you use wip, it will fail! I will commit to pkgsrc-wip later (within day).

Update mathomatic to 11.0f. Changes: - Removed calc() fraction code for accuracy because of fraction slack that was implemented in version 10.9c. - Solve increase power function wasn't working with odd number roots. Fixed. Appears to be another gcc optimizer bug. - Improved simplify command. - Tweaked factor_constants(). - Some changes to "makefile" for "readline" support. "GNU make" or "gmake" required now. - Fixed solving of "x^(1/99)=x". - Fixed readline bug.

Update mathomatic to 11.2d. Changes: Slight improvement to integrate and laplace commands. Integrate/laplace x on (a+x)/(b+c) works now. Added more examples to the documentation (am.htm). 2 to 10 times speedup for simplify command by fixing polynomial factoring.

Update mathomatic to 12.5.5. Changes: - Added "doc/manpage.html", which is the man page for Mathomatic generated with "groff -Thtml -man". - Made sure all HTML files have the extension ".html". - Made sure we can allocate at least 1 equation space on startup. - Made entering things like "#1 a" succeed at entering a single variable expression. - Fix-ups to the symbolic math library. - Increased power of limit command. - A limit expression with infinity in it is assumed to be infinity.
