the following security vulnerabilities:
- CVE-2007-4770/4771: Manipulated ODF text documents containing XForms can
lead to heap overflows and arbitrary code execution
- CVE-2007-5745/5747: Manipulated Quattro Pro files can lead to heap
overflows and arbitrary code execution
- CVE-2007-5746: Manipulated EMF files can lead to heap overflows and
arbitrary code execution
- CVE-2008-0320: Manipulated OLE files can lead to heap overflows and
arbitrary code execution
This update provides a fix for the security vulnerability reported in
CVE-2007-4575 and a lot of other bug-fixes.
The complete release notes are available here:
http://development.openoffice.org/releases/2.3.1.html
Fixes "CVE-2007-2834: Manipulated TIFF files can lead to heap overflows and
arbitrary code execution".
Besides that lots of bug fixes, improvements and better MS Office compatibility.
See the release notes at http://development.openoffice.org/releases/2.3.0.html
of an emulated operating system. Instead of proliferating things like
SUSE_VERSION_REQD, NETBSD_VERSION_REQD, SOLARIS_VERSION_REQD, etc., a
package can say:
EMUL_REQD= suse>=9.1 netbsd>=2.0 solaris>=10
all in one, succinct line.
binary-only packages that require binary "emulation" on the native
operating system. Please see pkgsrc/mk/emulator/README for more
details.
* Teach the plist framework to automatically use any existing
PLIST.${EMUL_PLATFORM} as part of the default PLIST_SRC definition.
* Convert all of the binary-only packages in pkgsrc to use the
emulator framework. Most of them have been tested to install and
deinstall correctly. This involves the following cleanup actions:
* Remove use of custom PLIST code and use PLIST.${EMUL_PLATFORM}
more consistently.
* Simplify packages by using default INSTALL and DEINSTALL scripts
instead of custom INSTALL/DEINSTALL code.
* Remove "SUSE_COMPAT32" and "PKG_OPTIONS.suse" from pkgsrc.
Packages only need to state exactly which emulations they support,
and the framework handles any i386-on-x86_64 or sparc-on-sparc64
uses.
* Remove "USE_NATIVE_LINUX" from pkgsrc. The framework will
automatically detect when the package is installing on Linux.
Specific changes to packages include:
* Bump the PKGREVISIONs for all of the suse100* and suse91* packages
due to changes in the +INSTALL/+DEINSTALL scripts used in all
of the packages.
* Remove pkgsrc/emulators/suse_linux, which is unused by any
packages.
* cad/lc -- remove custom code to create the distinfo file for
all supported platforms; just use "emul-fetch" and "emul-distinfo"
instead.
* lang/Cg-compiler -- install the shared libraries under ${EMULDIR}
instead of ${PREFIX}/lib so that compiled programs will find
the shared libraries.
* mail/thunderbird-bin-nightly -- update to latest binary
distributions for supported platforms.
* multimedia/ns-flash -- update Linux version to 9.0.48 as the
older version is no longer available for interactive fetch.
* security/uvscan -- set LD_LIBRARY_PATH explicitly so that
it's not necessary to install library symlinks into
${EMULDIR}/usr/local/lib.
* www/firefox-bin-flash -- update Linux version to 9.0.48 as the
older version is no longer available for interactive fetch.

This avoids the need for a confusing line of the form:
DEINSTALL_TEMPLATE+= path/to/INSTALL
in the package Makefile, and actually removes the need to specify it
altogether since by convention, the existence of the DEINSTALL script
is enough to add it to DEINSTALL_TEMPLATE.
it will live with other "check" targets run after package installation.
Get rid of SHLIB_HANDLING, whose meaning had mutated over the years
from one thing to another. Currently, it is used to basically note
whether the system's "ldd" command can be usefully run on the package's
binaries and libraries. Rename this variable to CHECK_SHLIBS_SUPPORTED
for more clarity.
CHECK_SHLIBS is now a variable set exclusively by the user in /etc/mk.conf
to note whether the check for missing run-time search paths is performed
after a package is installed. It defaults to "no" unless PKG_DEVELOPER
is set.
INSTALL/DEINSTALL script creation within pkgsrc.
If an INSTALL or DEINSTALL script is found in the package directory,
it is automatically used as a template for the pkginstall-generated
scripts. If instead, they should be used simply as the full scripts,
then the package Makefile should set INSTALL_SRC or DEINSTALL_SRC
explicitly, e.g.:
INSTALL_SRC= ${PKGDIR}/INSTALL
DEINSTALL_SRC= # emtpy
As part of the restructuring of the pkginstall framework internals,
we now *always* generate temporary INSTALL or DEINSTALL scripts. By
comparing these temporary scripts with minimal INSTALL/DEINSTALL
scripts formed from only the base templates, we determine whether or
not the INSTALL/DEINSTALL scripts are actually needed by the package
(see the generate-install-scripts target in bsd.pkginstall.mk).
In addition, more variables in the framework have been made private.
The *_EXTRA_TMPL variables have been renamed to *_TEMPLATE, which are
more sensible names given the very few exported variables in this
framework. The only public variables relating to the templates are:
INSTALL_SRC INSTALL_TEMPLATE
DEINSTALL_SRC DEINSTALL_TEMPLATE
HEADER_TEMPLATE
The packages in pkgsrc have been modified to reflect the changes in
the pkginstall framework.
This version solves the OOo bug 55330 that the value of a graphics
object attribute was accidentally inverted during read.
