and 1.3 is believed to be almost entirely compatible.

the build on -current. A better fix would be to add a -lexecinfo test
to the configure script, but that requires regenerating with an old
version of autoconf... not tonight.

alternative from mk/jpeg.buildlink3.mk
This allows selection of an alternative jpeg library (namely the x86 MMX,
SSE, SSE2 accelerated libjpeg-turbo) via JPEG_DEFAULT=libjpeg-turbo, and
follows the current standard model for alternatives (fam, motif, fuse etc).
The mechanical edits were applied via the following script:

Shared directories can now be created independently by the pacakges
needing them and will be removed automatically by pkg_delete when empty.
Packages needing empty directories can use the @pkgdir command in PLIST.
