464a90c769 Update xmess to version 0.103.
Release 0.103, 16 January 2006:
- Everything from MAME 0.103 (http://x.mame.net/changes-mame.html) and
  MESS 0.103 (http://x.mame.net/changes-mess.html).
- Modified osd_alloc_executable() to use mmap() by default. This
  prevents segfaults in the DRC core on systems that support the NX
  bit, such as AMD64 and Intel Prescott. Thanks to Julian Sikorski,
  Adam Moss, and Carl Fongheiser.
- Fixed a segfault that occurred when LIRC was enabled but lirc_init
  returned an error value. (Joe Quanaim)
- Added "-[no]lirc" to enable or disable LIRC support. (Joe Quanaim)
- Fixed several buffer overruns that happened when overly-long data was
  passed for "-ctrlr", "-lang", "-rec", and "-pb". Fixed other
  potential buffer overruns. Bugzilla bug 821.
- Files larger than 2GB can now be accessed on platforms with large
  file support.
- The "-createhd" and "-merge" operations in chdman are now a lot
  faster on Linux.

90999d74d2 Update to 2.0.0:
Release 2.0.0 Wed Jan 11 2006
        - We no longer use the "check" library for C unit testing; we
          always use the (partial) internal implementation of the API.
        - Report XML_NS setting via XML_GetFeatureList().
        - Fixed headers for use from C++.
        - XML_GetCurrentLineNumber() and  XML_GetCurrentColumnNumber()
          now return unsigned integers.
        - Added XML_LARGE_SIZE switch to enable 64-bit integers for
          byte indexes and line/column numbers.
        - Updated to use libtool 1.5.22 (the most recent).
        - Added support for AmigaOS.
        - Some mostly minor bug fixes. SF issues include: 1006708,
          1021776, 1023646, 1114960, 1156398, 1221160, 1271642.

========================================================================
============ Changes from 4.2.0 RC2 to 4.2.0 (October 2005) ============
========================================================================

   Peter Wang made fixmul() detect overflows as it used to do in the 4.0.x
   branch.

   Dennis Busch found a bug where d_clear_proc would not work properly if the
   GUI target bitmap is different from screen.

   Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz made Allegro log all TRACE output with a prefix
   in the format "al-system level: ". This makes it easier to grep debug logs.

   Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz made dialogs with MSG_CHAR/MSG_UCHAR handlers
   honor a D_CLOSE return flag without a D_USED_CHAR.

   Peter Hull fixed problems with the mouse position as reported by Allegro and
   the mouse position as known to OS X.

   Peter Hull made Command-Q not close the application if no exit-button
   callback is registered.

   Peter Hull fixed problems with joysticks under MacOS X as reported by
   Thomas Harte.

   Peter Hull fixed a bug preventing more than one Allegro application from
   being run at a time on Mac OS X. Reported by Thomas Harte.

   Peter Hull did a lot of other things for the MacOS X port too.

   Jiri Gabriel fixed loading of multiple ranges in a single bitmap with txt
   fonts.

   Milan Mimica and Jiri Gabriel fixed several bugs in extract_font_range.

   Dennis Busch fixed a Unicode bug in the mode selector.

   Evert Glebbeek added FA_ALL and FA_NONE file attribute flags.

   Peter Hull fixed a deadlock in OS X when calling vsync() while the screen
   was acquired.

   Robert Alfonso fixed a grabber crash when importing a new font range into an
   existing font. Reported by Milan Mimica.

   Chris Robinson fixed the fileselector in UNIXnot properly recognising
   filenames containing UTF-8 characters.

   Hrvoje Ban and Peter Wang wrote a documentation section that explains
   several common mistakes.

   Elias Pschernig disabled DGA auto-detection under X11

   Peter Hull.

===========================================================================
============ Changes from 4.2.0 RC1 to 4.2.0 RC2 (August 2005) ============
===========================================================================

   Grady Martin made the grabber consider deleting object properties as a
   change to the datafile.

   Milan Mimica fixed numerous bugs in extract_font_range().

   Peter Hull moved the 'magic chdir' in the MacOS X port to earlier in the
   startup process, so that the config file will be looked for in the
   resource directory if is present.

   Chris Robinson made create_bitmap(0,0) not return a bitmap that would
   later crash destroy_bitmap(). Zero-sized bitmaps are still not allowed so
   the assertions for debug mode have not changed.

   Elias Pschernig patched the Windows keyboard driver to get key_shifts
   working again with KB_SHIFT_FLAG, KB_CTRL_FLAG, KB_ALT_FLAG on Win98.

   Peter Wang changed hline and vline into aliases for internal symbols to
   avoid a conflict with the curses API. This change should be transparent
   for users.

   Matthew Leverton and Michal Molhanec updated the build system for MSVC 8.

   Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz prevented make_relative_filename() from crashing
   with malformed parameters.

   Hrvoje Ban made ASSERT() actually abort in Windows.

   Chris Robinson made GUI menus work with gui_screen.

   Evert Glebbeek fixed reading of 32 bit Windows .bmp files, which was not
   supported. These files seem to be not very standard though, so it's
   unclear if it will always do the right thing. Alpha channels also seem
   not to be standard in 32 bit BMP files, so it's possible they're not read
   in correctly.

   Peter Wang and Peter Hull updated the ABI compatibility document. This
   documents our policy for the 4.2.x series.

   Extensive documentation updates from Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz and minor
   updates due to Michael Faerber, Robert Ohannessian and Milan Mimica.

c6ec013fe3 "install -dc foo bar" doesn't copy foo to bar, it creates two directories
foo and bar. On NetBSD, it doesn't matter whether foo already exists or
whether it is a directory, so the passed flags just created a bunch of
garbage directories. Since I don't want to patch a dozen Makefile.ams to
avoid the nobase usage, just precreate the directories in pre-install.
Bump revision.

which works on !NetBSD as well. Use PLIST variables for the man page.

c73ad93615 Update to 1.24:
1.24 Fri Jan 13 2006
	- No functional changes. No need to upgrade.
	- Updated copyright notice to 2006.
	- Added t/05_base.t to try and chase down base.pm bug
	  (Failed to find it, but left test so CPAN Tests can validate my
	  assumptions on what should happen and that it happens for them)
	- Added base.pm as a dep (although unversioned dep) to make sure
	  it is installed on older perls.
	- Module::Install updated to 0.52
	- Decrement List::Util dep to 1.17 as 1.18 fails to build on some
	  platforms.

4765: Add GeoIP.dat support (zet)
      GeoIP is a GPL database that maps IPs to countries.
      http://www.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/
      This patch adds support for a "geoip_dat" option.
      It is a simple ocaml translation of just the geoip country lookup code.
      If active, the file is left open and consulted on demand.
      It didn't seem to slow anything down on my slow system.
      Sends the country # to the gui, use latest Sancho version to use it.
      Web: displays country codes in a column (name in tooltip).
      Maybe someone wants to add flag images (please make them optional).

3f985478be xsane update to 0.99. 2006-01-22 00:09:50 +00:00
wiz
b57ed24b97 Update to 0.99:
xsane-0.98b -> 0.99:
--------------------

 - added preferences/setup options:
   - save_ps_flatdecoded
   - save_pdf_flatdecoded
   - fax_ps_flatdecoded
   - printer[i].ps_flatdecoded

 - changed xsane-preferences reading routines for printer definitions and
   preset area definitions

 - changed postscript and tiff saving routines:
   - split in subroutines:
     - create_document_header (ps, pdf)
     - save image as page (ps, pdf, tiff)
     - create_document_trailer (ps, pdf)

 - split xsane.c into xsane.c, xsane-fax-project.c and xsane-mail-project.c

 - created xsane-multipage.c that adds a multipage project dialog
   supported file formats:
   - ps
   - pdf
   - tiff

 - corrected viewer to display bits/sample and size correct

 - changed handling of viewer filename and filetype selection:
   when a new viewer window is created then it copies the active
   filename and filetype. Changing the viewer´s selection does not
   change the prefered setting any more.

 - when no resolution option is available then xsane uses a resolution
   of 72.0 dpi. This e.g. is used for postscript and PDF.

 - changed tiff saving routine:
   - added deflate (zip) compression for 8 bit and 16 bit / sample images
   - corrected jpeg rgb compression

 - changed mixed up e-mail names (mail, email, e-mail):
   - all xsane internal names are: email
   - all user visible texts are : e-mail
   - changed acceleration key for email mode to GDK_E
   - changed command line option from --mail and -m to --email and -e

 - changed name of notebook "image" to "filetype"

 - when force_filename is set then the filetype is defined by the filename
   instead of preferences.filetype

 - project dialog position is saved in devices preferences now

 - when a dialog is closed then the position is stored in preferences
   so it can be saved when the window is invisible at program exit

 - changed handling of ADF:
   - removed ADF scanmode selection from setup
   - added entry for number of pages to scan in xsane main dialog
   - next scan is not started by
       g_signal_emit_by_name(xsane.start_button, "clicked"); /* press START button */
     any more. This executed the next scan before all active scan subroutines
     have been finished. Now we use
       gtk_timeout_add(100, (GtkFunction)xsane_scan_dialog, NULL);
     to start xsane_scan_dialog after 100ms.

 - batch scan window now uses preview levels (zoomed previews) to display batch icons

 - added ASMTP authentication PLAIN and LOGIN

 - changed size definition of preview window for GTK2 to gtk_window_resize()

 - added $(DESTDIR) before each destination path in all Makefile.in

 - made usage of MKINSTALLDIRS unique in all Makefile.in

 - cleaned up subdir intl
