mirmon 2.10 -- 15 augustus 2014
o Probe only one site-url with "mirmon -get url site-url".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
mirmon 2.9 -- 13 augustus 2013
o Added a LICENSE file, requested by fedora packagers.
Do it for all packages that
* mention perl, or
* have a directory name starting with p5-*, or
* depend on a package starting with p5-
like last time, for 5.18, where this didn't lead to complaints.
Let me know if you have any this time.
o The code is now modularised. The distribution contains 'Mirmon.pm',
an OO interface for mirmon objects. Program 'mirmon' still contains
all the code ; it is split into 'Mirmon.pm' and 'mirmon.pl'.
o The mirror list can now have rsync urls.
o The algorithm to balance the probe load over the hourly mirmon runs
is improved ; from completely skewed to balanced takes some 5 days.
a) refer 'perl' in their Makefile, or
b) have a directory name of p5-*, or
c) have any dependency on any p5-* package
Like last time, where this caused no complaints.
Many software projects are mirrored worldwide. The mirror sites are
required to update the mirror archive regularly (daily, weekly) from
a root server.
Mirmon helps administrators in keeping an eye on the mirror sites. In
a concise graphic format, mirmon shows each site's status history of
the last two weeks. It is easy to spot stale or dead mirrors.
