a remarkable number of bells and whistles like:
* Syntax Highlighting.
* Multiple files in multiple windows.
* Browse modes for LaTeX (rather experimental), HTML and MAN pages.
* Networking support (http and ftp).
* GUI frontends for some of its platforms.
