Changes: This release finishes the numbered lists. All tools have
a 'Close' button now. The configurable resources mechanism now
works without X11 for command line calls. There is preliminary
support for 'shapes', the newer Word figures mechanism. There is
support for the Euro sign if the font supports it. With some
configuration,
Ted can now use most fonts configured in GhostScript. It uses more
CSS and fewer tables in HTML. Many annoying bugs were fixed.
Changes:
- Remove INCLUDED_FCNTL.
- Remove BSTRING related code, all platforms define it.
- Remove obsolete macro BASE_LEADING_CODE_P.
- Use LEADING_CODE_P instead of BASE_LEADING_CODE_P.
- Turn `directory-sep-char' into a noop.
- Move UNEXEC definition to autoconf.
- Remove obsolete pre-unicode2 macros.
- Remove NOT_C_CODE tests, it is always true now.
Release 2.3.17
This release fixes a crash in undo introduced in 2.3.16 as well as
some small bugs in delete-window, and contains some code cleanup.
Release 2.3.16
This release fixes a potential buffer overrun, and a long-standing bug
in the handling of the key string "C-_", and cleans up the code a
little more.
Release 2.3.15
This release fixes the default universal argument, which should be 4
but was 16, and also some cosmetic errors with the display of
universal arguments in the minibuffer. Some fixes to the build system
were also made (thanks to Giuseppe Scrivano).
Release 2.3.14
This release fixes a minor bug in filename tab expansion, which
resulted in `/' being expanded to `~/'.
Release 2.3.13
This release fixes bugs in `kill-line`, `scroll-up' and `scroll-down',
squashes some space leaks found by Valgrind, and fixes some build
problems reported by the indefatigable Nelson Beebe.
Release 2.3.12
This release fixes the +LINE command-line action, which was broken a
few releases ago, and makes a cosmetic fix to temporary buffers.
Release 2.3.11
This release fixes a crash in `find-alternate-file', a build system
bug, and various cosmetic bugs, and cleans up the code a little.
Release 2.3.10
This release runs the test suite on Emacs as well as Zile (currently,
requires Emacs 23 or later), and contains many small fixes to both the
test suite and to Zile to improve Emacs compatibility. Various other
bug fixes, improvements and tidy-ups have also been made. Note in
particular that the commands `suspend-zile', `save-buffers-kill-zile'
and `view-zile-FAQ' are now called `suspend-emacs',
`save-buffers-kill-emacs' and `view-emacs-FAQ' respectively, and
`kill-line' now works with non-positive arguments. Portability has
been improved, in particular to DOS systems.

- the "container.xml" reading subsystem now handles XML files
with namespaces (issue #235)

in epub archives (per spec, they have to be UTF-8 or UTF-16,
but Sigil will now handle those that aren't)
- fixed an issue with content file filenames using "%20" for
spaces not being loaded (issue #232)

pkgsrc changes:
- Adjusting dependencies according to upstream META.yml
- Adjusting module type (for build)
- Using b3.mk from x11/p5-Wx to ensure correct BUILD_DEPENDS for Wx bindings
Upstream changes:
0.56 2010.02.01
- Plugins may now add their GUI elements to the view menu (SEWI)
- Padre now displays a dynamic to-do list generated from comments
in your source code (CORION)
- Landed new Padre::Startup module which is dramatically faster
when loading files into an existing Padre via the single instance
server, and finally provides a mechanism for allowing configuration
to disable the startup splash image (ADAMK)
- Changed a few configuration settings to create a more consistent
naming pattern for them (ADAMK)
- Audited dependencies and updated a variety of them (ADAMK)
- Ctrl-Shift-W is now bound to "Close This Project" (ADAMK)
- Added an option for traceing Padre subroutine calls to the
developer plugin (SEWI)
- Uses correct make from Config.pm for the run menu item -> Build and
run tests (KTHAKORE)
- Speedup and less false-shows for autocomplete (SEWI)
- Speedup while changing tabs (use the correct project dir) (SEWI)
- Simple refocus on document after command run (KTHAKORE)
- Fixed ticket #822: main window could be off screen on start (BLAKEW)
- padre-client allows you to use Padre for commit messages and other
synchronous edit events (CORION)
- WIN32, Converted the --desktop registry code to Win32::TieRegistry
and removed hardcoded strawberry paths (AZAWAWI)
- WIN32, padre.exe will run with the same UAC privileges as same as
the invoker (AZAWAWI)
- Disable debugger menu items when there is no document (AZAWAWI)
- Fixed a Padre debugger crash when an unsaved document is debugged (AZAWAWI)
- Fixed Padre no-document crash with Find Next/Find Previous functionality
(AZAWAWI)
- Make sure that windows context key shows the refactor menu
items in the right-click pop-up menu (AZAWAWI)
- Used Module::CoreList::is_deprecated to display deprecated CORE modules
in help search title (AZAWAWI)
- Padre::Util::Win32::ExecuteProcessAndWait doesn't automatically inherit
the same Cwd as the parent process. Added support for explicit cwd
parameter and make the syntax checker pass the cwd to it. Syntax checking
of test scripts and such should now work as intended on Win32(ADAMK)
- Audit uses of Padre::Util::Win32 to only load it via require. Added a
TRACE warning to verify it never gets loaded on non-Win32 (ADAMK)
- Tuned the locking for ->close_where, which should make a variety of
functions like "Close This Project" and "Close Other Projects"
noticably faster (ADAMK)
- Changed func_foo config variables to feature_foo, in anticipation of
of a future equivalent to the Mozilla "about:config" control (ADAMK)
- Added feature_cursormemory to allow disabling of Padre's feature to
remember the location in the file you were scrolled to (ADAMK)
- Added a fast ascii shortcut to the very slow encode detector. Opening
files all of a sudden gets much faster if you have ascii files (ADAMK)

Class::XSAccessor acceleration support. If they cause problems,
these changes can be safely backed out. (ADAMK)
- Fixed the mass-error-popups on mimetypes without help provider (SEWI)
- During DB locks (which are the most likely place for things to make
changes to the database) disable synchronous SQLite writes. This will
reduce the time that Padre blocks, at the risk of config.db corruption
if there is a hardware failure or operating system crash. (ADAMK)
- Fixed ticket #837: padre.exe should be able to be placed in
c:\strawberry\perl\site\bin (AZAWAWI)
- Improved "Goto Line" dialog to be smarter with better validation/error
messages (AZAWAWI)

of Perl build systems (three of those correctly) (ADAMK)
- Function List has resource locking around it and properly triggers a
refresh when we show it for an already open document (ADAMK)
- "Goto Line" dialog now supports going to lines and positions (AZAWAWI)
- Fixed perl to refactor action prefix for refactor menu for
consistency (AZAWAWI)
- Fixed ticket #841: Quick Menu Access should show the location of the
menu item on the menu system (AZAWAWI)

- Add full list of file types to the View Document As menu (SZABGAB)
- dist-zilla projects detection finally fixed (#489) (JQUELIN)
- The directory tree refresh method will shortcut if nothing has
changed, which should fix a number of bugs relating to the
directory tree "doing things" when it shouldn't be (ADAMK)
- Saving files to somewhere other than the current project will now
correctly flush the document project state, and triggers a directory
tree flush so that we communicate the change in project (ADAMK)
- Cloned ORLite::Migrate to a private version as Padre::DB::Migrate
so we have a better chance of fixing bug #796 (ADAMK)
- Tentatively fixed#796 by spawning migration scripts in a manner which
does NOT assume the pre-existance of STDOUT. This is at best a
short-term hack, because this STDOUT problem is going to come back and
bite us in other ways in the future, for sure (ADAMK)
- Tuned the directory tree refresh logic to improve startup speed when
launching Padre with specific named files to open (ADAMK)
- Tuned the creation and management of tool widgets to remove the need
to load or construct tools at startup time that are turned off in the
user's configuration.
- Tuned lock-release refresh execution to remove low-level refresh
methods that are also contained in higher level refresh methods.
- Removed a superfluous AUI Update from the refresh method (ADAMK)

run in Padre. (PLAVEN)

Padre::Desktop. Desktop link creation works on Vista and newer
operating systems again (ADAMK)

which saves a ton of CPU and seems to reduce flicker (ADAMK)
build the package without the gnome dependencies.

This plugins allows one to checking her text spelling within Padre using
F7 (standard spelling shortcut accross text processors). One can change the
dictionary language used in the preferences window
(menu Plugins / SpellCheck / Preferences).
This plugin provides an interface to the Syntax::Highligh::Engine::Kate
which implements syntax highlighting rules taken from the Kate editor.
Currently the plugin only implements Perl 5 and PHP highlighting.
Once this plug-in is installed the user can switch the highlighting of
all Perl 5 or PHP files to use this highlighter via the Preferences menu
of Padre.
This plugin allows sending stuff from Padre to a nopaste website with
Ctrl+Shift+V, allowing for easy code / whatever sharing without having
to open a browser.
This plugin is intended to extend Padre's support for editing XS and
C-using-perlapi.
Currently the plugin implements limited syntax highlighting and calltips
using a configurable version of the perlapi.
Padre is a Perl IDE, an Integrated Development environment, or in other
words a text editor that is simple to use for new Perl programmers but
also supports large multi-lingual and multi-technology projects.

This is version 1.6.4.1. LyX should always be able to
import old document formats.
This now works without a "python" named "python".
(But that needs to be fixed by upstream still.)
Sorry way too many changes to list them here.
I will be removing the lyx-qt, lyx-xforms, and lyx15 packages soon.
Sigil v0.1.4 2009.10.08.
- SGF files are now associated with Sigil on Windows (issue #135)
- SGF files are now associated with Sigil on Mac OS X (issue #10)
- fixed issue with "Open With" OS actions not working on Macs (issue #111)
- provided more informative tooltips by following Word 2007 tooltip style (issue #64)
- the heading text can now be edited in the TOC Editor (issue #131)
- the Save As dialog now uses the current filename in the filename field (issue #18)
- views can now be zoomed (issue #44)
- Sigil no longer loads flow-specific CSS... this was causing more harm than good; loading
flow-specific CSS will be back in 0.2.0.
- implemented a NEW workaround for a webkit bug causing the first character of a heading
created after a chapter break to be displayed incorrectly (issue #78)
- fixed issue with TOC editor not resolving HTML entities (issue #125)
- fixed issue with Tidy changing case of attribute names (issue #120)
- Sigil will from now on check for a newer version on startup and present an informative
message if such a version is found (issue #67)
- made SGF importing MUCH faster (issue #119)
- provided a window icon on Linux
- providing binary installers for Windows AND LINUX (issue #6)
- further improved encoding detection for HTML import
- fixed graphical misalignment of controls in MetaEditor on Linux and Mac platforms
- fixed syntax highlighting for XPGT stylesheets
- fixed rare issue with SGF importing that displayed all body text underlined (issue #118)
- fixed display of the Sigil chapter break in Book View: the red double-line now
properly appears after all images (issue #117)
- added support for importing images referenced in SVG elements in HTML import
- HTML importing now defaults to a locale-aware codec if one is not detected in the HTML stream;
previously the fallback codec was UTF-8; this change should improve importing of old HTML
documents (issue #113)
Sigil v0.1.3 2009.09.02.
- implemented a work-around for a bug in Qt causing documents with "us-ascii" encoding
specified in the XML declaration to crash Sigil (issue #109)
- resource path updating rewritten; should be more robust
- fixed an issue where EPUB files from Google Books could not be opened (issue #106)
- fixed regression for storing the folder from which the user last imported an image (issue #105)
- refactored HTML file import resource loading: should be a lot more robust now
- fixed an issue with loading HTML files that reference the same images multiple times (issue #90)
- implemented non-live View position synchronization; the Views are now synced
by HTML element: moving the caret in one View will center the other View (upon switching)
to the same HTML element that held the caret in the first View (issue #8)
- newlines are now removed from TOC headings to avoid rendering problems in ADE (issue #96)
- Sigil now creates a unique book identifier (if one is not provided by the user)
using the UUID standard instead of a radnom sequence of characters and numbers;
the old "SigilGEN" scheme is replaced with "UUID"
- initial support for calibre interoperability (issue #94)
- book updates from TOC editor are now faster and have a much smaller memory overhead
- fixed issue with removing headings from TOC in TOC editor (issue #88, part 2 and issue #21);
also made TOC editor updates to headings MUCH more robust
- all headings are now by default included in TOC... heuristics for "guessing" which
headings the users wants have been removed (issue #88, part 1)
- fixed critical issue with Sigil hanging when loading certain SGF files (issue #87)
- fixed rare issue with duplicate image loading (issue #86)
- implemented a workaround for a webkit bug causing the first character of a heading
created after a chapter break to be displayed incorrectly (issue #78)
- the "makedmg" target for Macs is not build by default anymore and needs to be
invoked directly; this was done to speed rebuilds
- Macs now have a standard multiple document interface: opening a new file opens it
in a new window, not in the old one (issue #22)
- fixed a bug with warning dialog not informing the user of unsaved changes
if he tried to load from the recent files list
