- A big backwards-incompatible refactoring of the Immutable API,
and the make_immutable/make_mutable pieces of the Class
API. The core __PACKAGE__->meta->make_immutable API remains
the same, however, so this should only affect the most
guts-digging code.

- The XS code used a macro, XSPROTO, that's only in 5.10.x. This
has been fixed to be backwards compatible with 5.8.x.

The Perl 5 module Class::MOP is a fully functioning meta object
protocol for the Perl 5 object system. It makes no attempt to change
the behavior or characteristics of the Perl 5 object system, only
to create a protocol for its manipulation and introspection. It
does attempt to create the tools for building a rich set of extensions
to the Perl 5 object system
