Summary: Short version for index and feeds
For all those whom have been interested in a topic it has been a challenge to find a community which they can become part of in order to share their enjoyment. On the World Wide Web communities may be a variety of occurences. The webmastering community for example encompasses all webmasters although they may not know of each other's existence. Other communities help to join professional people in their struggle to find work. Another form of community and the one I am going to speak to you about is of that at [Ancient Worlds](http://www.ancientworlds.net) where people may congregate.
At this location people may be guests or community members and the site is divided into various time periods. As the user becomes a member of a community, for example that of the Roman civilization then he choses a Roman name according to a group of around fourty families. Once this is completed he may become a more dynamic member of the community through sending "gram" to other members of the site.
With a communications panel the user sees who is online and what role they have within this site, whether a simple citizen or a demigod. As people progress through the site they find discussion groups about history, some role playing and more. Within this collection of pages it is a dynamic way of learning some latin, learning about Julius Caesar and far more subjects. Having just relaunched the site is expanding at a very impressive rate to include new members all the time.
The importance of this community is that it resembles what online communities used to be, a group of people whom collect themselves under one domain and share their interests much as geocities used to do. Every single person may format their "Domus" as they please effectively creating their own little home on the World Wide Web.

Summary: Territories Conquered By The Romans
# Conquered Territories
## Fortifying the new cities
The Roman army conquered the land and while they did that they built forts. The forts were normally wooden. They were spread around the frontier. They also had walls around thecities. The wall was built of stone and rocks. This made it very solid as it was made in a special way. The walls were made to be wide enough for soldiers to walk along them. They also opened the doors to the city. They had to pull the gates of the city up to let the people get in. The cities had different types of buildings in them. They put roads on top of it so that the vehicles from the troops can move more easily.
## Farming the land
The Romans conquered a lot of land and they had to get food to feed all the people in it so they had to find a way to feed everyone. Everyone was offered corn and if they didn't' t get it they got annoyed as it was considered a right. Caesar introduced the salary which was salt given to the people in order to thank them. The farmers were poor and lived in houses made of mud and straw or similar material. They also had some land to farm. They kept animals such as oxen or beef from which they got food and an income. Religion was an important part in the life of a farmer as he wanted a better life later. They sacrificed sheep and other animals and offered food to their gods. They looked upon the gods as those who were allowing them to make the crops grow.

Summary: Rome spanned from England to Europe, to surround the Mediterranean and more.
# The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire covered much of England, Europe, surrounded the Mediterranean and more. As a result it ecompassed different altitudes, climates biomes and more.
Following a recent e-mail I thought that it would be interesting to talk about the geography of the Roman empire, talking firstly about Italy and then about the rest of Europe, I may add some maps and images to illustrate all this.
[Rome](https://www.main-vision.com/richard/rome.php) Rome was the center of the Roman empire, it was built near the river Tiber. The city was built on seven hills.
[Pompeii](https://www.main-vision.com/richard/pompeii.php) The City that was covered by a volcanic eruption in 79AD.
[Nyon](https://www.main-vision.com/richard/nyon.php) A provincial town at the edge of the Léman. Léman is lake in Latin.
[Damascus](https://www.main-vision.com/richard/damas.php) Damascus.
[Jerash](https://www.main-vision.com/richard/jerash.php) Jerash is a Roman city in Jordan.

</footer><!-- /.post-info --><p>For all those whom have been interested in a topic it has been a challenge to find a community which they can become part of in order to share their enjoyment. On the World Wide Web communities may be a variety of occurences. The webmastering community for example encompasses all webmasters although they may not know of each other's existence. Other communities help to join professional people in their struggle to find work. Another form of community and the one I am going to speak to you about is of that at <a href="http://www.ancientworlds.net">Ancient Worlds</a> where people may congregate.
</p> </article>

<h2>Fortifying the new cities</h2>
<p>The Roman army conquered the land and while they did that they built forts. They put roads on top of it so that the vehicles from the troops can move more easily.</p>
<h2>Farming the land</h2>
<p>The Romans conquered a lot of land and they had to get food to feed all the people in it so they had to find a way to feed everyone. They looked upon the gods as those who were allowing them to make the crops grow.</p>

</p> </article>
