I should probably teach you how to install ffmpeg if you want to use it on
windows or linux. This seems a little hard to do but I can assure you it is
fairly easy.

on linux all you have to do is the following:
Arch Linux: sudo pacman -Sy ffmpeg
Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
But windows 10/11 is a little more complicated
first you'll need to visit the following site:
https://ffmpeg.org/download.html
then click on the windows logo and two choices will appear:
Windows builds from gyan.dev
Windows builds by BtbN
I clicked on gyan.dev and downloaded ffmpeg-git-full.7z
Open it and make a folder in your C drive or any other drive you'd like
named ffmpeg.
drag all of the files in ffmpeg-git-full.7z into that folder
hit the Windows start button and type "Environment"
Click on "Edit the system environment variables"
a menu will pop up and you'll need to click on a new button labeled
"Environment Variables"
A new menu will pop up again, click on the line with "Path"
and click on the button "edit"
Now a final new menu will open
click the "New" button and paste in the path to that ffmpeg folder
we made, specifically to the "bin" folder.
this is what I pasted into the line for me:
D:\ffmpeg\bin
Now hit "Okay" and hit "Okay" again on the next menu and then finally
"Okay" one more time on the last menu
You did it! now open the windows start menu again. then type "cmd" and hit
enter
now, type "ffmpeg" inside that black box and hit enter. If a bunch of stuff appears
about ffmpeg then you're good!
