Remove `dired-subtree' background styles
...
Setting background values for this package's various depth levels breaks
the consistency of established metaphors. The line of a Dired mark or
flag is not coloured as intended because dired-subtree's styles take
precedence.
Unless there is a way to change the prioritisation of faces,
`dired-subtree-depth-*-face' must have their `:background' set to `nil'.

Emacs 27 (WIP): extend some faces past EOL
...
This is in preparation of the breaking changes in the upcoming stable
release of Emacs. Basically the issue is that faces now need to
explicitly extend past the end of the line.
There probably are more faces that need to be reviewed (e.g. Org
blocks).
