This patch enables the use of the Advanced SIMD (NEON) extension on
ARMv7. The NEON technology is a 64/128-bit hybrid SIMD architecture
for accelerating the performance of multimedia and signal processing
applications. The extension shares the registers with the VFP unit and
enabling/disabling and saving/restoring follow the same rules. In
addition, there are instructions that do not have the appropriate CP
number encoded, the checks being made in the call_fpe function.

This patch allows the VFP support code to run correctly on CPUs
compatible with the common VFP subarchitecture specification (Appendix
B in the ARM ARM v7-A and v7-R edition). It implements support for VFP
subarchitecture 2 while being backwards compatible with
subarchitecture 1.
On VFP subarchitecture 1, the arithmetic exceptions are asynchronous
(or imprecise as described in the old ARM ARM) unless the FPSCR.IXE
bit is 1. The exceptional instructions can be read from FPINST and
FPINST2 registers. With VFP subarchitecture 2, the arithmetic
exceptions can also be synchronous and marked by the FPEXC.DEX bit
(the FPEXC.EX bit is cleared). CPUs implementing the synchronous
arithmetic exceptions don't have the FPINST and FPINST2 registers and
accessing them would trigger and undefined exception.
Note that FPEXC.EX bit has an additional meaning on subarchitecture 1
- if it isn't set, there is no additional information in FPINST and
FPINST2 that needs to be saved at context switch or when lazy-loading
the VFP state of a different thread.
The patch also removes the clearing of the cumulative exception flags in
FPSCR when additional exceptions were raised. It is up to the user
application to clear these bits.

Rather than just revert the thing outright, or add ARM-specific
knowledge to the generic Kconfig.instrumentation file (where the only
and whole point was to be generic, not too architecture-specific), this
just makes ARM not use the generic version, since it doesn't suit it.
So create an arm-specific version of Kconfig.instrumentation instead,
and use that.

The ARM __kuser_cmpxchg routine is meant to implement an atomic cmpxchg
in user space. It however can produce spurious false negative if a
processor exception occurs in the middle of the operation. Normally
this is not a problem since cmpxchg is typically called in a loop until
it succeeds to implement an atomic increment for example.
Some use cases which don't involve a loop require that the operation be
100% reliable though. This patch changes the implementation so to
reattempt the operation after an exception has occurred in the critical
section rather than abort it.
Here's a simple program to test the fix (don't use CONFIG_NO_HZ in your
kernel as this depends on a sufficiently high interrupt rate):
#include <stdio.h>
typedef int (__kernel_cmpxchg_t)(int oldval, int newval, int *ptr);
#define __kernel_cmpxchg (*(__kernel_cmpxchg_t *)0xffff0fc0)
int main()
{
int i, x = 0;
for (i = 0; i < 100000000; i++) {
int v = x;
if (__kernel_cmpxchg(v, v+1, &x))
printf("failed at %d: %d vs %d\n", i, v, x);
}
printf("done with %d vs %d\n", i, x);
return 0;

One-shot timer mode on PXA has various bugs which prevent kernels
build with NO_HZ enabled booting. They end up spinning on a
permanently asserted timer interrupt because we don't properly
clear it down - clearing the OIER bit does not stop the pending
interrupt status. Fix this in the set_mode handler as well.
Moreover, the code which sets the next expiry point may race with
the hardware, and we might not set the match register sufficiently
in the future. If we encounter that situation, return -ETIME so
the generic time code retries.

is_init() is an ambiguous name for the pid==1 check. Split it into
is_global_init() and is_container_init().
A cgroup init has it's tsk->pid == 1.
A global init also has it's tsk->pid == 1 and it's active pid namespace
is the init_pid_ns. But rather than check the active pid namespace,
compare the task structure with 'init_pid_ns.child_reaper', which is
initialized during boot to the /sbin/init process and never changes.
Changelog:
2.6.22-rc4-mm2-pidns1:
- Use 'init_pid_ns.child_reaper' to determine if a given task is the
global init (/sbin/init) process. This would improve performance
and remove dependence on the task_pid().
2.6.21-mm2-pidns2:
- [Sukadev Bhattiprolu] Changed is_container_init() calls in {powerpc,
ppc,avr32}/traps.c for the _exception() call to is_global_init().
This way, we kill only the cgroup if the cgroup's init has a
bug rather than force a kernel panic.

There is no reason why the .prepare() and .finish() methods in 'struct
platform_suspend_ops' should take any arguments, since architectures don't use
these methods' argument in any practically meaningful way (ie. either the
target system sleep state is conveyed to the platform by .set_target(), or
there is only one suspend state supported and it is indicated to the PM core
by .valid(), or .prepare() and .finish() aren't defined at all). There also
is no reason why .finish() should return any result.

Move the definition of 'struct pm_ops' and related functions from <linux/pm.h>
to <linux/suspend.h> .
There are, at least, the following reasons to do that:
* 'struct pm_ops' is specifically related to suspend and not to the power
management in general.
* As long as 'struct pm_ops' is defined in <linux/pm.h>, any modification of it
causes the entire kernel to be recompiled, which is unnecessary and annoying.
* Some suspend-related features are already defined in <linux/suspend.h>, so it
is logical to move the definition of 'struct pm_ops' into there.
* 'struct hibernation_ops', being the hibernation-related counterpart of
'struct pm_ops', is defined in <linux/suspend.h> .

We have had complaints where a threaded application is left in a bad state
after one of it's threads is killed when we hit a VM: out_of_memory
condition.
Killing just one of the process threads can leave the application in a bad
state, whereas killing the entire process group would allow for the
application to restart, or be otherwise handled, and makes it very obvious
that something has gone wrong.
This change allows the entire process group to be taken down, rather
than just the one thread.

pxa_gpio_mode() is a universal call that fiddles with the GAFR
(gpio alternate function register.) GAFR does not exist on PXA3
CPUs, but instead the alternate functions are controlled via the
MFP support code.
Platforms are expected to configure the MFP according to their
needs in their platform support code rather than drivers. We
extend this idea to the GAFR, and make the gpio_direction_*()
functions purely operate on the GPIO level.
This means platform support code is entirely responsible for
configuring the GPIOs alternate functions on all PXA CPU types.

Switch the tps65010 driver into a "new-style" I2C driver, and convert all
of its in-tree users (board support for OSK, H2, H3) accordingly.
That accounts for most of the board-specific code in this driver; the
rest of that code is now moved into board-specific initcalls.
Also remove some of the many now-superfluous #includes.

Newer versions of binutils support --build-id, which adds an ELF
note section called ".note.gnu.build-id" to the output. On the ARM
kernel build, because there is no explicit mention of this section
in the shipped ld script, this section is placed at vaddr 0x00000000
(whereas the normal kernel text/data typically starts at vaddr
0xc0008000), causing the output of objcopy (Image) to produce a 3G+
file.
This patch makes objcopy strip the .note.gnu.build-id section from
the Image file along with all other note sections, which fixes the
build.

This patch resolves a kexec boot failure that can occur because
no ATAGs are passed in to the kexec'd kernel. Currently the
newly-kexec'd kernel may fail if it requires specific ATAGs, or
it may fail because the fixed memory location at which it expects
to find the ATAGs may contain random data instead of ATAGs.
The patch ensures that any ATAGs passed to the current kernel
at boot time are copied to a static buffer, and are copied back
when kexec copies the new kernel into place. Thus the new
kernel sees the same ATAGs from kexec and the boot loader.
The boot parameters are copied without regard to type, content,
or length -- this patch's scope is limited soley to saving and
restoring a fixed-size block of memory containing the kernel's
boot parameters. Additional functionality to examine, alter, or
replace the ATAGs (using kexec, for example) can be implemented
by manipulating the static buffer containing the preserved ATAGs.
Note: the size of the buffer (1.5KB) is selected to comfortably
hold one of each ATAG type, including a maximum-length command
line and the maximum number of ATAG_MEM structures currently
supported by the kernel. Should an ATAG list exceed that limit,
the list will be silently truncated to that limit (to do other-
wise at that point in the boot process would make a simple
problem exceedingly complicated).
[Note: this is the same patch as 4579, modified to accomodate
the ATAG changes introduced in 2.6.23]

GENERIC_TIME and GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS support for the at91rm9200.
- Oneshot mode (used for NO_HZ and high res timers) uses the
alarm to emulate a real oneshot timer; the trickiest bit is
how to avoid some lowlevel races. Thanks to Remy Bohmer for
various fixes to this code.
- Tighten up periodic mode support using the PIT.
- Streamline reads of the 32KHz counter. Thanks to Marc Pignat
for some testing results: the CRTR register has *very* odd
behavior. The reread appears to work around stranger glitches
than just getting an old clock value (which would quickly
self-correct).
- Remove the rounding-up of tick_usec to 10.009 msec (32KiHz/100),
since that no longer acts correct (time increases too fast).
Note that the at91sam9 and at91x40 chips need other solutions,

The SoSSI driver should already take care of this by enabling / disabling
its clock when necessary, so this legacy callout from the PM idle code
is not needed any more.

This is needed, so that disabling the SoSSI clock during idle can
be prevented.

Support the camera connector on the OSK Mistral add-on board:
- define muxing for both camera controllers
- mux both of them for Mistral
- teach ov9640 glue about mistral powerup/powerdown

Additional cleanup for debug boards on H2/P2/H3/H4: move the init
code that's not board-specific into a new file where it can be easily
shared between all the different boards (avoiding code duplication,
and making it easier to support more devices). Make H4 use that.
This should be easy to drop in to the OMAP1 boards using these debug
cards; the only difference seems to be that the p2 does an extra reset
of the smc using the fpga (probably all boards could do that, if it's
necessary) and doesn't use the gpio mux or request APIs.

GPMC updates:
- bugfixes: wrong/missing flags, omitted write, wrong test
- don't map memory segments starting at zero
- improve debug messaging
- export gpmc_get_fclk_perio]d() since it's needed to calc timings
- expect gpmc_cs_set_timings() caller to have initialized sync vs async
Note that this API is glitchy; likely the best fix would be to add
a member to "struct gpmc_timings" to hold GPMC_CONFIG1, since that
holds one key aspect of the GPMC timings (the gpmc_fclk divisor,
and sync vs. async == whether that divisor matters).

The EP93XX_GPIO_LINE_F() macro is supposed to be called with a line
number between 0 and 7, but the current code causes it to get called
with an spuriously offset number range {16..23}.

The l2x0_inv_range() function doesn't handle unaligned addresses
correctly. It's necessary to clean the cache lines that are at the
start and end of the invalidate range, if the addresses are not aligned,
to prevent corruption of other data sharing the same cache line.
