kill all references to gcc.buildlink2.mk and compiler.mk, and define USE_GCC2 or USE_GCC3 where appropriate. the functionality of the old gcc.buildlink2.mk has been rolled into compiler.mk now, which is automatically used. more changes to come later...

Get rid of manually adding "nbX" to PKGNAME when a pkg was changed in pkgsrc. Instead, a new variable PKGREVISION is invented that can get bumped independent of DISTNAME and PKGNAME. Example #1: DISTNAME= foo-X.Y PKGREVISION= Z => PKGNAME= foo-X.YnbZ Example #2: DISTNAME= barthing-X.Y PKGNAME= bar-X.Y PKGREVISION= Z => PKGNAME= bar=X.YnbZ (!) On subsequent changes, only PKGREVISION needs to be bumped, no more risk of getting DISTNAME changed accidentally.

add a patch to fix a bug in the fft() function where arguments are not checked correctly. Can cause scilab to crash instead of printing a warning. Patch came from Giuseppe Allodi <Giuseppe.Allodi@fis.unipr.it> posted to comp.soft-sys.math.scilab. bump to 2.6nb1.

enable this on NetBSD>1.5U on alpha since alpha FPC code is now in place. While here, add some missing headers and squish a LP64 bug. Passes all self tests and all but 2 examples on a 1.5ZA alpha.

Update for the fact that 'arm' ports have been called NetBSD-*-arm for a while now and not NetBSD-*-arm32. Changes include one or more of: - Change MACHINE_ARCH == arm32 to also match arm - Where ONLY_FOR_PLATFORM includes NetBSD-*-arm32, add NetBSD-*-arm - Where BROKEN or worked around for arm gcc bugs, set USE_GCC3 The last may shake out a few more broken packages the next bulk build.

This can be done as follow: predef(0);genlib('mylib','mylib_path',%t) gschur and gspec functions are now obsolete and replaced by schur and spec. Geci and the communication library have been removed. Use PVM interface instead. Metanet graph editor has been rewritten. Use edit_graph instead. man pages have to be written in HTML or better in XML but chapters written in the old ascii files are still handled. Scicos internal data structure have been changed. Automatic translation is made when old diagrams are loaded.

Addition of scilab-2.4 to the packages collection. This is from Dan McMahill (mcmahill@mtl.mit.edu) in PR pkg/6034. scilab is a high level scientific math programming environment with graphics. [scilab is HUGE.] The only major thing I changed was the way of creating the PLIST.
