Initial import of vlc-0.7.1 into the NetBSD packages collection. VideoLAN is a project of French students from the Ecole Centrale Paris and developers from all over the world. Its main goals is MPEG streaming on a network, but it also features a standalone multimedia player. The VideoLAN Server can stream video read from a hard disk, a DVD player, a satellite card or an MPEG 2 compression card, and unicast or multicast it on a network. The VideoLAN Client can read the stream from the network and display it. It can also be used to display video read locally on the computer : DVDs, VCDs, MPEG and DivX files and from a satellite card. It is multi-plaform : Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, BSD, Solaris, QNX, iPaq... The VideoLAN Client and Server now have a full IPv6 support.

Update to the latest 0.9 branch. Changes between 0.8.6i and 0.9.1: --------------------------------- Note: version 0.9.0 was skipped due to bugs being discovered at the last minute. Important notes: ---------------- * This release will not work with Windows 98/ME and Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) * The HTTP interface is now only available on the local machine by default. If you want to make it available from other machines, you will have to edit the ".hosts" file. - On UNIX/Linux, the file is in /usr/share/vlc/http/.hosts If you're using the old http interface, it's located in /usr/share/vlc/http/old/.hosts - On Windows they are in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\http\.hosts and C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\http\old\.hosts - On Mac OS X, you can find it in VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/http/.hosts and respectively in VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/http/old/.hosts * This version of VLC contains a new interface for Windows and Linux. Added to obsolete.mk checking for IGNORE_RECOMMENDED. I did not manually go through and fix any aesthetic tab/spacing issues. I have tested the above patch on DragonFly building and packaging subversion and pkglint and their many dependencies. I have also tested USE_ABI_DEPENDS=no on my NetBSD workstation (where I have used IGNORE_RECOMMENDED for a long time). I have been an active user of IGNORE_RECOMMENDED since it was available. As suggested, I removed the documentation sentences suggesting bumping for "security" issues. As discussed on tech-pkg. I will commit to revbump, pkglint, pkg_install, createbuildlink separately. Initial import of vlc-0.7.1 into the NetBSD packages collection. VideoLAN is a project of French students from the Ecole Centrale Paris and developers from all over the world. Its main goals is MPEG streaming on a network, but it also features a standalone multimedia player. The VideoLAN Server can stream video read from a hard disk, a DVD player, a satellite card or an MPEG 2 compression card, and unicast or multicast it on a network. The VideoLAN Client can read the stream from the network and display it. It can also be used to display video read locally on the computer : DVDs, VCDs, MPEG and DivX files and from a satellite card. It is multi-plaform : Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, BSD, Solaris, QNX, iPaq... The VideoLAN Client and Server now have a full IPv6 support.

Add options.mk with options for wxwidgets and skins2 user interfaces (wxwidgets on by default with skins2 disable for compatibility). N.B. If skins2 is enabled and wxwidgets disabled, vlc will work fine, but there will be no dialog provider so you won't be able to alter the playlist. Initial import of vlc-0.7.1 into the NetBSD packages collection. VideoLAN is a project of French students from the Ecole Centrale Paris and developers from all over the world. Its main goals is MPEG streaming on a network, but it also features a standalone multimedia player. The VideoLAN Server can stream video read from a hard disk, a DVD player, a satellite card or an MPEG 2 compression card, and unicast or multicast it on a network. The VideoLAN Client can read the stream from the network and display it. It can also be used to display video read locally on the computer : DVDs, VCDs, MPEG and DivX files and from a satellite card. It is multi-plaform : Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, BSD, Solaris, QNX, iPaq... The VideoLAN Client and Server now have a full IPv6 support.
