Multilingual GNU editing macros (editor)
It was based on Mule ports of FreeBSD and Emacs ports of NetBSD originally,
lots of changes are adapted as a result of discussion on
tech-pkg-ja@jp.NetBSD.ORG mailing list.
It doesn't have Lisp(that means very limited customization
is available). Since you can invoke it very quickly
(compared with real GNU Emacs), it is useful in dealing with
changing small file a bit.
Ng(Nihongo Micro Gnu Emacs) is a Mg(Micro Gnu Emacs)'s
japanese port. Ng supports EUC, JIS and SJIS code.
Ng also have (rather simple) C-mode.
It is also very useful even if you don't need Japanese support.

make much sense. Replace it with a symlink to the version dependend
directory name, where real stuff is installed. This allows other

Mg (mg) is a Public Domain EMACS style editor. It is "broadly"
compatible with GNU Emacs. Mg was formerly named MicroGnuEmacs,
but is not associated with the GNU project.
This program is intended to be a small, fast, and portable editor for
people who can't (or don't want to) run real Emacs.
Emacs-20.6 is a bug-fix release with one user-visible change

Word importer. Justin and Caolan have fixed things so that tabstops,

Unix stuff. By popular request, libstdc++ is no longer required. (We
never really needed it anyhow.) PostScript emissions now use signed
characters, as suggested by Bob Monaghan <bob@sbst.com>. With the latest
fonts.dir, Symbol fonts should print properly now, too.
First support for GNOME.
Spelling speedup. The interactive spell check logic is now fast and
smart like it should be, instead of woefully poky and dumb like it used to
be.
Subscript and superscript.
View ruler. Stephen Hack <shack@uiuc.edu> implemented this menu item so
that you can hide or show the ruler on a per-window basis.
Compressed AbiWord files. The AbiWord file format (*.abw) was designed
from the get-go to be a highly-readable form of XML. However, for those of
you who care more about bloat than legibility, Richard Jefts

added import/export logic for a gzip-compressed variant (*.zabw).

Introduce an XAW_TYPE definition, which is defined in /etc/mk.conf by
the user, to denote the type of libXaw to use. Possible values are:
standard, 3d and xpm.
Define USE_XAW in relevant Makefiles.
Set default XAW_TYPE in Makefiles which previously did a DEPENDS+= Xaw3d...
This means that package builds should not fail because of conflicting
Xaw packages being installed on machines.
Notable changes are:
- Recognizing file types and syntax highlighting has been separated. This
allows you to add your own file type specific items. And syntax
highlighting is more flexible.
- Now includes syntax highlighting for over 150 file types.
- Vim scripts have been improved: Line continuation with a backslash, more
built-in functions, etc.
- The hit-return prompt is avoided by truncating messages. A message history
has been added to view previous (untruncated) messages.
- Support for encryption of files.
- Quickfix support extended to support more error formats, including
multi-line error messages and change-directory messages.
- Menus can be used in console mode. The wildmenu feature offers menu-like
command line completion.
