Small fix for building on Mac OS X Mojave.
One is via "${JAVA_BINPREFIX}-java", and one is via
"${PKG_JAVA_HOME}/bin/java".
The "${JAVA_BINPREFIX}-java" way relies on an appropriately named
executable being present in the built-in JRE if you are using the
built-in - something with a "-java" suffix. That just doesn't exist
in either the MacOS Oracle JRE install or the JDK install. So switch
to "${PKG_JAVA_HOME}/bin/java" instead, which works (but does require
careful quoting to allow for spaces under MacOS).
Bump PKGREVISION.

and research. Simplicity, usability, clarity, and extensibility
rather than performance or optimization is the overarching goal.
It's using the same script bindings for every Qt version past 5.5.0,
so the version check isn't actually necessary at this point. Just pretend
to be 5.5.0 and install those bindings.
While here, install icons and avoid installing .gitignore files.

KiCad 5.1.0 Release
2019-03-14
The KiCad project is proud to announce the release of version
5.1.0. This is the first ever minor version release of KiCad and was
developed primarily to resolve compatibility issues with Linux GTK3
and long awaited support for python3.
In addition to the primary focus, there have been many important
changes that make this release a substantial improvement over the 5.0
series and a worthwhile upgrade for users on all platforms. Included
in the improvements are:
- Improved 3D model library path configuration.
- Cairo canvas is now used for printing support on all platforms.
- Schematic and symbol library editors now use the modern canvases for
rendering.
- Symbol pin table is now editable.
- Pcbnew scripting support for Python 3 has been added.
- Snapping for graphical object drawing in board and footprint editors.
- Significant user interface improvements.
- Major dialog box improvements.
- Both the footprint and symbol library editors now share the same
user interface paradigm with a library tree view pane.
- Symbol, footprint, and 3D model library improvements.
- Documentation and translation improvements.
- Less pain for Linux package maintainers, now all features should be
easy to support.
Additionally, files created by KiCad version 5.1 remain 100%
compatible with files created by version 5.0.
Of course no new stable version of KiCad would be complete without
many, many bug fixes so please consider upgrading as soon as
possible. This version will be the only supported version of KiCad
moving forward. There will be no further releases of the 5.0 series.
Version 5.1.0 is built from the source code in the lp:kicad/5.1
branch.
KiCad binaries will be available for download for Windows, MacOS, and
Linux are available or will be in the very near future. See the KiCad

Please note that a last minute bug was found in the Eagle schematic
import feature too late to be fixed in this release which is expected

Verilator is the fastest free Verilog HDL simulator, and outperforms
most commercial simulators. Verilator compiles synthesizable
SystemVerilog (generally not test-bench code), plus some SystemVerilog
and Synthesis assertions into single- or multithreaded C++ or
SystemC code. Verilator is designed for large projects where fast
simulation performance is of primary concern, and is especially
well suited to generate executable models of CPUs for embedded
software design teams.

What’s new in MyHDL 0.10
The block decorator
Rationale
The historical approach for hierarchy extraction in MyHDL suffers from
significant issues. This results in complex code, a number of non-intuitive API
concepts, and difficulties for future development.
In this release, a new block decorator is introduced to address these issues.
For an in-depth discussion, see mep-114.
API
block() :noindex:
The block decorator enables a method-based API which is more consistent,
simplifies implementation, and reduces the size of the myhdl namespace.
The methods work on block instances, created by calling a function
decorated with the block decorator:

- hdl: ‘VHDL’ or ‘Verilog’. Defaults to Verilog.
- Supported keyword arguments:

- trace: Whether the testbench should dump all signal waveforms. Defaults to
False.
- testbench: Verilog only. Specifies whether a testbench should be created.
Defaults to True.
- timescale: timescale parameter. Defaults to ‘1ns/10ps’. Verilog only.
<block_instance>.verify_convert()
Verify conversion output, by comparing target HDL simulation log with MyHDL
simulation log.
<block_instance>.analyze_convert()
Analyze conversion output by compilation with target HDL compiler.
Backwards compatibility issues
In the 0.10 release, the old API still available next to the new API based on
the block decorator.
It is likely that the old API will be deprecated in a future release, resulting
in backwards incompatibility for legacy code. Therefore, users are encouraged
to start using the new API in their development methodology.
gdsCAD is a simple, but powerful, Python package for creating, reading, and
manipulating GDSII layout files. It's suitable for scripting and interactive
use. It excels particularly in generating designs with multiple incrementally
adjusted objects. gdsCAD uses matplotlib to visualize everything from individual
geometry primitives to the entire layout.

- fix problem in some possible invocations of the generic mounting hole
macro. All footprints pass syntax checks again.
- remove an extra empty attribute which is not needed and causes

- in the mounting hole macro, change the calculation of the pad size for
the support vias to make them as large as possible without actually
changing the copper (the support vias are covered by the main pad).
This does not affect the fabricated board but it does remove some

- match() with 3 arguments is a gawk extension. Rework the code to avoid
using a 3 argument call to match() in one spot. Lets the script run

result is identical to the previous gawk result using both gawk and
NetBSDs awk.
- change from AC_FD_CC to AS_MESSAGE_LOG_FD
- removed the antifork abomination.
- disabled one of the checks used to deal with older gdlib installs on
some linux systems when building under cygwin as the test has
problems. Repairs building for mingw under cygwin.
- when building under cygwin, create a pcbtest.bat batch file that
allows testing the compiled pcb without installing. This is somewhat
analogous to the pcbtest.sh script generated on linux and other
unix-like systems.
- cleanup the win32 build script a good bit. An important change is
that instead of blindly installing all of the mingw cross system root
files, only install a set of listed ones. This not only reduces the
size of the windows installer but makes sure we have a more repeatable
build and know what we are actually bundling into the installer.

It has been quite some time since the last snapshot of pcb was released
in March 2014.
Since then quite a lot of bugs were fixed and new features added, below
this introduction a summary is given of the improvements and additions
since the latest snapshot "pcb-20140316".
This release represents over 480 commits (mostly bugfixes and code
refactoring) and as such this summary clearly is not complete.
This pcb release 4.0.0 has a significant change in the major version
number.
This is done to make a fresh start and to get away from the 1.99z
version with YYYYMMDD snapshots.

Enhancements: The RBA::Region#smooth function was enhanced to give
somewhat better results
Enhancements: DXF's circle approximation can now also specified
through an "accuracy" parameter: if less than the number of specified
points is required to achieve the given accuracy, the number is
reduced accordingly. This also applies to the polygon interpolation
of spline and arc curves.
Enhancement: RBA integration now is compatible with Ruby 2.3 which
allows building on Ubuntu 16 as well.

What’s new in MyHDL 0.9
Python 3 support
Experimental Python 3 support has been added to MyHDL 0.9. This was a major effort to modernize the code. As a result, Python 2 and 3 are supported from a single codebase.

Interfaces (Conversion of attribute accesses)
Rationale
Complex designs often have many signals that are passed to different levels of hierarchy. Typically, many signals logically belong together. This can be modelled by an interface: an object that has a number of Signal objects as its attributes. Grouping signals into an interface simplifies the code, improves efficiency, and reduces errors.
The following is an example of an interface definition:

Although previous versions supported interfaces for modeling, they were not convertible. MyHDL 0.9 now supports conversion of designs that use interfaces.
The following is an example using the above Complex interface definition:

Solution
The proposed solution is to create unique names for attributes which are used by MyHDL generators. The converter will create a unique name by using the name of the parent and the name of the attribute along with the name of the MyHDL module instance. The converter will essentially replace the ”.” with an “_” for each interface element. In essence, interfaces are supported using hierarchical name expansion and name mangling.
Note that the MyHDL convertor supports interfaces, even though the target HDLs do not. This is another great example where the convertor supports a high-level feature that is not available in the target HDLs.

Other noteworthy improvements
ConcatSignal interface
The interface of ConcatSignal was enhanced. In addition to signals, you can now also use constant values in the concatenation.
std_logic type ports
toVHDL() has a new attibute std_logic_ports. When set, only std_logic type ports are used in the interface of the top-level VHDL module.
Development flow
The MyHDL development flow has been modernized by moving to git and github for version control. In addition, travis has set up so that all pull requests are tested automatically, enabling continuous intergration.

The Python 3 support effort was coordinated by Keerthan Jaic, who also implemented most of if. Convertible interfaces were championed by Chris Felton, and implemented by Keerthan Jaic.
