Changes from 2.8:
Support the new "gpufw" set.
Actually reduce the default test timeout to 1 hour as documented in
version 2.5 when anita is invoked as a program rather than as a
library.
Log a message to the structured log file on timeout so that the time
when the timeout occurred can be determined from the message timestamp.
Define a scratch disk for alpha (wd1c) so that ATF test results can
be exported to the host.
In addition to the plain-text ATF test report printed to the console
as the tests progress, also store a clean copy without other console
output in test.txt and export it to the host. Suggested by
Greg Troxel.
Fix failure to destroy the Xen DomU used by the installation stage
before trying to create the one for the boot stage when running
under Python 3.
Fix failure to log in after reboot when running "anita test" on a
self-resizing image without running a separate "anita install" first.
From Joerg Sonnenberger.
Support coypu's proposed sysinst entropy patch.
Remove extra newline in reponse to entropy prompt.
# pillar 1.6.2
## Options
- Options `pillar.print_max`, `pillar.print_min`, `pillar.width` and
`pillar.max_extra_cols` are now queried before the corresponding
`tibble.` or `dplyr.` options are consulted, the latter will be
soft-deprecated in pillar v2.0.0 (#353).
- New `pillar.bidi` option. When active, control characters are
inserted to improve display of data with right-to-left text (#333).
- The new `pillar.max_footer_lines` option (default: 7) allows
controlling the maximum number of footer lines shown. It is applied
in addition to the existing `tibble.max_extra_cols` option (#263).
## Formatting
- If a column doesn't make use of all horizontal width offered to it,
the excess width is distributed over other columns (#331).
- Improved allocation of free space in multi-tier tables with
`getOption("tibble.width") > getOption("width")` (#344).
- All pillars are shown with their true horizontal extent,
irrespective of the indicated `width`. This simplifies the
implementation of custom `pillar_shaft()` methods (#347).
## Features
- `num()` gains `extra_sigfig` argument to automatically show more
significant figures for numbers of the same magnitude with subtle
differences (#97).
- `print.tbl()` and `format.tbl()` support the `max_extra_cols` and
`max_footer_lines` arguments that override the corresponding options
(#360).
- `print.tbl()` and `format.tbl()` maps the now deprecated `n_extra`
argument to `max_extra_cols` for consistency (#360).
## Bug fixes
- Avoid mangling of duplicate column names in footer (#332).
- Fix warning with zero of type `bit64::integer64()` (#319).
## Documentation
- All package options are now documented in `?pillar_options` (#339).
- `obj_sum()` no longer calls `type_sum()` for vectors since pillar
v1.6.1, this is now documented (#321).
- Fix documentation on usage of `vctrs::vec_proxy()` and
`vctrs::vec_restore()` (#322).
## Internal
- Using `attr(exact = TRUE)` everywhere.
- `is_vector_s3()` is no longer generic (#181).
- Fix internal logic around `vec_proxy()` and `vec_restore()` (#316).

NOTE: no code changes on 2021-06-01 so no release made at that

- Added code2names
Also code2countrys, code2languages, etc. This allows you to see all
names and aliases that correspond to a code. My apologies for
making 'countrys' to be the plural of 'country', but because these
modules are all derived, I didn't want to put in an exception for
the strange pluralization.

20210112.006 2021-02-16T04:08:08Z
* Fix testing bug. This module needs Business::ISBN 3.005 to match
the data structures. Prior to that, Business::ISBN had a bug with
ISBN13.
20210112.005_03 2021-02-15T17:43:08Z
* I think the CPAN Tester failures are using older versions of
Business::ISBN (older than 3.005 all seem to fail). I assumed they
started fresh, but I guess not. Require a recent version in the
default_data test.
20210112.005_02 2021-02-14T05:07:05Z
* Try harder to see what's going on in CPAN Testers
20210112.005_01 2021-02-13T12:40:28Z
* Try harder to figure out these test failures
20210112.005 2021-02-13T05:23:58Z
* Fix the default data test. It should only run when you have
Business::ISBN already, and it shouldn't do stupid things like
using an array that I didn't put anything in.
20210112.004 2021-02-10T04:29:32Z
* Test the default data.
* Add a note about packaging RangeMessage.xml (adapted from gwyn17)
20210112.003 2021-02-09T22:42:53Z
* The default data had a problem because I used the same hash key
twice in the default data (Github #7). Found by gwyn17.
20210112.002 2021-02-07T05:46:20Z
* Don't try to load a data file if there are no data files
(Github #6)
20210112.001 2021-01-19T14:48:12Z
* freshen distro, dump Travis CI, add Github Actions
* Update to latest Business::ISBN::Data
The Quick Charts module provides a set of charts that can be used from QtQuick
applications. They are intended to be used for both simple display of data as
well as continuous display of high-volume data (often referred to as plotters).
The charts use a system called distance fields for their accelerated rendering,
which provides ways of using the GPU for rendering 2D shapes without loss of
quality.

When writing desktop application, finding the right location to store user data
and configuration varies per platform. Even for single-platform apps, there
may by plenty of nuances in figuring out the right location. This kind of thing
is what the platformdirs module is for.

Upstream changes:
https://github.com/flavorjones/mini_portile/releases
2.6.1 / 2021-05-31
Dependencies
Make net-ftp an optional dependency, since requiring it as a hard dependency in
v2.5.2 caused warnings to be emitted by Ruby 2.7 and earlier. A warning message
is emitted if FTP functionality is called and net-ftp isn't available; this
should only happen in Ruby 3.1 and later.
2.6.0 / 2021-05-31
Added
Recipes may build against a local directory by specifying source_directory
instead of files. In
particular, this may be useful for debugging problems with the upstream
dependency (e.g., use git bisect in a local clone) or for continuous
integration with upstream HEAD.
2.5.2 / 2021-05-28
Dependencies
Add net-ftp as an explicit dependency to accommodate the upcoming Ruby 3.1
changes that move this and other gems out of the "default" gem set and into the
"bundled" gem set. See https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/17873 [#101]
2.5.1 / 2021-04-28
Dependencies
This release ends support for ruby < 2.3.0. If you're on 2.2.x or earlier, we
strongly suggest that you find the time to upgrade, because official support
for Ruby 2.2 ended on 2018-03-31.
Enhancements
* MiniPortile.execute now takes an optional :env hash, which is merged into
the environment variables for the subprocess. Likely this is only useful
for specialized use cases. [#99]
* Experimental support for cmake-based projects extended to Windows. (Thanks,
@larskanis!)
Changes:
0.45.2
------
- rlwrap enables bracketed-paste when instructed to do so by .inputrc,
but would then never disable it at exit.
- rlwrap -z (i.e. rlwrap when using a filter) would still open
/tmp/rlwrap.debug after forking the filter command, preventing other
users from running it afterwards
0.45.1
------
- rlwrap would always open /tmp/rlwrap.debug after forking child
command, preventing other users from running it.
- Fix args to setitimer() call to prevent EINVAL error on return
- advise about --always-readline if in direct mode at first user ENTER
keystroke
- check for I_SWROPT even if isastream() is present (compile would fail
on Oracle linux)
* Fix PR pkg/56048 with Yasushi Oshima's patch.

and common names those stars
- Updated Almagest and al-Sufi skycultures
- Many changes in plugins
- Many fixes in core and plugins for support HiDPI devices
- Enhancements in visualization of markings and in scripting engine
# pillar 1.6.1
- Bump required versions of ellipsis and vctrs to avoid warning during package load.
- `obj_sum()` no longer includes shape twice (#315).
# pillar 1.6.0
## Features
- New `num()` and `char()` offer a flexible way to customize the display of numeric and character columns (#191, #84).
- New `"pillar.max_dec_width"` option (#308).
- New `format_type_sum.AsIs()` avoids the need to implement your own `format_type_sum()` method (#286).
- `align()` gains `space` argument to control the character used for filling (#285).
- Numbers in scientific and decimal notation are formatted with the same rules regarding significant or decimal digits (#297).
## Bug fixes
- Load the debugme package only if the `DEBUGME` environment variable is set.
- More accurate detection if the decimal dot is necessary, and how many digits to show after the decimal dot (#298).
- Use display width instead of number of characters when truncating character columns.
## Documentation
- New `vignette("numbers")` and `vignette("digits")` (#308).
## Internal
- Compatibility with vctrs 0.3.7 (#291).
- `format.pillar_shaft_simple()` requires `"na"` attribute and no longer defaults to `pillar_na()` (#273).
# pillar 1.5.1
## Features
- New `format_glimpse()` (#177).
## Bug fixes
- Color and formatting can now be reliably turned off by setting the `"cli.num_colors"` option to 1 (#269).

- Breaking: `print.pillar()` and `print.pillar_ornament()` now show `<pillar>` `<pillar_ornament>` in the first line (#227, #228).
- pillar has been re-licensed as MIT (#215).
## Extensibility
- New `size_sum()` generic (#239).
- New `ctl_new_pillar()` and `ctl_new_compound_pillar()` used via `print.tbl()`, `format.tbl()` and `tbl_format_setup.tbl()` (#230).

- New `new_pillar_component()` and `pillar_component()` (#230).
- New articles `vignette("extending")` and `vignette("printing")` (#251).
## Formatting
- All printing code has been moved from tibble to pillar (#179), including `glimpse()` (#234). This concentrates the printing code in one package and allows for better extensibility.
- Improve formatting for `"Surv"` and `"Surv2"` classes from the survival package (#199).
- Vectors of the `vctrs_unspecified()` class are formatted better (#256).
- Arrays are now formatted by showing only their first slice (#142).
- Avoid wrapping extra column names with spaces (#254).
## Internal
- Now using debugme to simplify understand the complex control flow, see `vignette("debugme")` (#248).
- New `format.pillar_ornament()` (#228).

## Technical
- `pillar_shaft()`, `format_type_sum()` and `extra_cols()` issue a warning if dots are unused.
- `new_pillar_title()` and `new_pillar_type()` warn if `...` is not empty.
## Internal
- Use lifecycle package.
- Remove compatibility code for R < 3.3.
# pillar 1.4.4
- `obj_sum()` uses `vctrs::vec_size()` internally.
- `is_vector_s3.default()` is soft-deprecated and no longer used. Please ensure that `vctrs::vec_is()` is `TRUE` for your class.
- Rely on vctrs for type abbreviations.

v4.0.0
------
Breaking changes in the configuration format
********************************************
The configuration format is changing with release 4.0.0. We currently depend on
an unmaintained library for configuration. It's not currently in a working
state, and while some distributions are patching it, setting up a clean
environment is a bit non-trivial, and the situation will only degrade in future.
The changes in format are be subtle, and also come with an intention to add
further extensibility in future. Configuration files will be plain python. If
you don't know Python don't worry, you don't _need_ to know Python.
I'll take my own config as a reference. The pre-4.0.0 format is:
```dosini
[main]
path = ~/.local/share/calendars/*
time_format = '%H:%M'
default_list = todo
humanize = true
startable = true
```
The 4.0.0 version would look like this:
```python
path = "~/.local/share/calendars/*"
time_format = "%H:%M"
default_list = "todo"
humanize = True
startable = True
```
Key differences:
- The `[main]` header is no longer needed.
- All strings must be quoted (this was previously optional).
- True and False start with uppercase.
- Using `yes` or `on` is no longer valid; only `True` and `False` are valid.
That's basically it. This lets up drop the problematic dependency, and we don't
actually need anything to read the config: it's just python code like the rest
of `todoman`!
For those users who _are_ python developers, you'll note this gives some
interesting flexibility: you CAN add any custom python code into the config
file. For example, you can defined the `path` programatically:
```python
def get_path() -> str:
...
path = get_path
```
Dropped support
***************
* Dropped support older Python versions. Only 3.8 and 3.9 are now supported.
Minor changes
*************
* Added support for python 3.9.
* The dependency `configobj` is no longer required.
* Click 8.0 is now supported.
* Fix crash when ``default_command`` has arguments.
upstream changes:
-----------------
Version 1.0.22
o Update copyright year to 2021
o Unit tests + plugin in release workflow
o Support Docker + VScode development
TUI to study flashcards in the terminal.
Spaced repetition in the terminal. Inspired by Anki and uses a modified SM2
algorithm.
Cards should be saved in TOML format.
The latter two were only useful to support the go-grpc and go-tools builds.
go-grpc has no useful binaries (the CLI is in net/grpc), it only consists
of libraries that are now unused. No replacements.
pkgsrc change: add "USE_LANGUAGES= # none".

Now it should be more obvious when a package needs it as a dependency,
as it will fail loudly if it isn't declared as a tool.
While here, some duplicate dependencies on itstool were removed from the
MATE packages
- Libraries and binaries don't have the .note.GNU-stack section stripped
anymore. Previously, "make strip" would strip that section, which
would sometimes (depending on the toolchain) cause binaries to be
incorrectly tagged as needing an executable stack. This is not a
security issue in itself, but an executable stack makes it easier for
an attacker to turn bugs into exploits, so it should be avoided
whenever possible. Thanks to Xavier Stonestreet for reporting and
finding the cause of the problem.
- Link tests are now performed with a regular file as their
output, instead of /dev/null, which makes them more portable to
old/buggy linkers.

Changes:
3.2
---
* Add a flag to disable keys to close a message.
* Permit shortcut keys in buffer, client, tree modes to be configured with a
format (-K flag to choose-buffer, choose-client, choose-tree).
* Add a current_file format for the config file being parsed.
* When display-message used in config file, show the message after the config
file finishes.
* Add client-detached notification in control mode.
* Improve performance of format evaluation.
* Make jump command support UTF-8 in copy mode.
* Support X11 colour names and other colour formats for OSC 10 and 11.
* Add "pipe" variants of "copy-pipe" commands which do not copy.
* Include "focused" in client flags.
* Send Unicode directional isolate characters around horizontal pane borders if
the terminal supports UTF-8 and an extension terminfo(5) capability "Bidi" is
present.
* Add a -S flag to new-window to make it select the existing window if one
with the given name already exists rather than failing with an error.
* Addd a format modifier to check if a window or session name exists (N/w or
N/s).
* Add compat clock_gettime for older macOS.
* Add a no-detached choice to detach-on-destroy which detaches only if there
are no other detached sessions to switch to.
* Add rectangle-on and rectangle-off copy mode commands.
* Change so that window_flags escapes # automatically. A new format
window_raw_flags contains the old unescaped version.
* Add -N flag to never start server even if command would normally do so.
* With incremental search, start empty and only repeat the previous search if
the user tries to search again with an empty prompt.
* Add a value for remain-on-exit that only keeps the pane if the program
failed.
* Add a -C flag to run-shell to use a tmux command rather than a shell command.
* Do not list user options with show-hooks.
* Remove current match indicator in copy mode which can't work anymore since we
only search the visible region.
* Make synchronize-panes a pane option and add -U flag to set-option to unset
an option on all panes.
* Make replacement of ##s consistent when drawing formats, whether followed by
[ or not. Add a flag (e) to the q: format modifier to double up #s
* Add -N flag to display-panes to ignore keys.
* Change how escaping is processed for formats so that ## and # can be used in
styles.
* Add a 'w' format modifier for string width.
* Add support for Haiku.
* Expand menu and popup -x and -y as formats.
* Add numeric comparisons for formats.
* Fire focus events even when the pane is in a mode.
* Add -O flag to display-menu to not automatically close when all mouse buttons
are released.
* Allow fnmatch(3) wildcards in update-environment.
* Disable nested job expansion so that the result of #() is not expanded again.
* Use the setal capability as well as (tmux's) Setulc.
* Add -q flag to unbind-key to hide errors.
* Allow -N without a command to change or add a note to an existing key.
* Add a -w flag to set- and load-buffer to send to clipboard using OSC 52.
* Add -F to set-environment and source-file.
* Allow colour to be spelt as color in various places.
* Add n: modifier to get length of a format.
* Respond to OSC colour requests if a colour is available.
* Add a -d option to display-message to set delay.
* Add a way for control mode clients to subscribe to a format and be notified
of changes rather than having to poll.
* Add some formats for search in copy mode (search_present, search_match).
* Do not wait on shutdown for commands started with run -b.
* Add -b flags to insert a window before (like the existing -a for after) to
break-pane, move-window, new-window.
* Make paste -p the default for ].
* Add support for pausing a pane when the output buffered for a control mode
client gets too far behind. The pause-after flag with a time is set on the
pane with refresh-client -f and a paused pane may be resumed with
refresh-client -A.
* Allow strings in configuration files to span multiple lines - newlines and
any leading whitespace are removed, as well as any following comments that
couldn't be part of a format. This allows long formats or other strings to be
annotated and indented.
* Instead of using a custom parse function to process {} in configuration
files, treat as a set of statements the same as outside {} and convert back
to a string as the last step. This means the rules are consistent inside and
outside {}, %if and friends work at the right time, and the final result
isn't littered with unnecessary newlines.
* Add support for extended keys - both xterm(1)'s CSI 27 ~ sequence and the
libtickit CSI u sequence are accepted; only the latter is output. tmux will
only attempt to use these if the extended-keys option is on and it can detect
that the terminal outside supports them (or is told it does with the
"extkeys" terminal feature).
* Add an option to set the pane border lines style from a choice of single
lines (ACS or UTF-8), double or heavy (UTF-8), simple (plain ASCII) or number
(the pane numbers). Lines that won't work on a non-UTF-8 terminal are
translated back into ACS when they are output.
* Make focus events update the latest client (like a key press).
* Store UTF-8 characters differently to reduce memory use.
* Fix break-pane -n when only one pane in the window.
* Instead of sending all data to control mode clients as fast as possible, add
a limit of how much data will be sent to the client and try to use it for
panes with some degree of fairness.
* Add an active-pane client flag (set with attach-session -f, new-session -f
or refresh-client -f). This allows a client to have an independent active
pane for interactive use (the window client pane is still used for many
things however).
* Add a mark to copy mode, this is set with the set-mark command (bound to X)
and appears with the entire line shown using copy-mode-mark-style and the
marked character in reverse. The jump-to-mark command (bound to M-x) swaps
the mark and the cursor positions.
* Add a -D flag to make the tmux server run in the foreground and not as a
daemon.
* Do not loop forever in copy mode when search finds an empty match.
* Fix the next-matching-bracket logic when using vi(1) keys.
* Add a customize mode where options may be browsed and changed, includes
adding a brief description of each option. Bound to C-b C by default.
* Change message log (C-b ~) so there is one for the server rather than one per
client and it remains after detach, and make it useful by logging every
command.
* Add M-+ and M-- to tree mode to expand and collapse all.
* Change the existing client flags for control mode to apply for any client,
use the same mechanism for the read-only flag and add an ignore-size flag.
refresh-client -F has become -f (-F stays for backwards compatibility) and
attach-session and switch-client now have -f flags also. A new format
client_flags lists the flags and is shown by list-clients by default.
This separates the read-only flag from "ignore size" behaviour (new
ignore-size) flag - both behaviours are useful in different circumstances.
attach -r and switchc -r remain and set or toggle both flags together.
* Store and restore cursor position when copy mode is resized.
* Export TERM_PROGRAM and TERM_PROGRAM_VERSION like various other terminals.
* Add formats for after hook command arguments: hook_arguments with all the
arguments together; hook_argument_0, hook_argument_1 and so on with
individual arguments; hook_flag_X if flag -X is present; hook_flag_X_0,
hook_flag_X_1 and so on if -X appears multiple times.
* Try to search the entire history first for up to 200 ms so a search count can
be shown. If it takes too long, search the visible text only.
* Use VIS_CSTYLE for paste buffers also (show \012 as \n).
* Change default formats for tree mode, client mode and buffer mode to be more
compact and remove some clutter.
* Add a key (e) in buffer mode to open the buffer in an editor. The buffer
contents is updated when the editor exits.
* Add -e flag for new-session to set environment variables, like the same flag
for new-window.
* Improve search match marking in copy mode. Two new options
copy-mode-match-style and copy-mode-current-match-style to set the style for
matches and for the current match respectively. Also a change so that if a
copy key is pressed with no selection, the current match (if any) is copied.
* Sanitize session names like window names instead of forbidding invalid ones.
* Check if the clear terminfo(5) capability starts with CSI and if so then
assume the terminal is VT100-like, rather than relying on the XT capability.
* Improve command prompt tab completion and add menus both for strings and -t
and -s (when used without a trailing space). command-prompt has additional
flags for only completing a window (-W) and a target (-T), allowing C-b ' to
only show windows and C-b . only targets.
* Change all the style options to string options so they can support formats.
Change pane-border-active-style to use this to change the border colour when
in a mode or with synchronize-panes on. This also implies a few minor changes
to existing behaviour:
- set-option -a with a style option automatically inserts a comma between the
old value and appended text.
- OSC 10 and 11 no longer set the window-style option, instead they store the
colour internally in the pane data and it is used as the default when the
option is evaluated.
- status-fg and -bg now override status-style instead of the option values
being changed.
* Add extension terminfo(5) capabilities for margins and focus reporting.
* Try $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/tmux/tmux.conf as well as ~/.config/tmux/tmux.conf for
configuration file (the search paths are in TMUX_CONF in Makefile.am).
* Remove the DSR 1337 iTerm2 extension and replace by the extended device
attributes sequence (CSI > q) supported by more terminals.
* Add a -s flag to copy-mode to specify a different pane for the source
content. This means it is possible to view two places in a pane's history at
the same time in different panes, or view the history while still using the
pane. Pressing r refreshes the content from the source pane.
* Add an argument to list-commands to show only a single command.
* Change copy mode to make copy of the pane history so it does not need to
freeze the pane.
* Restore pane_current_path format from portable tmux on OpenBSD.
* Wait until the initial command sequence is done before sending a device
attributes request and other bits that prompt a reply from the terminal. This
means that stray relies are not left on the terminal if the command has
attached and then immediately detached and tmux will not be around to receive
them.
* Add a -f filter argument to the list commands like choose-tree.
* Move specific hooks for panes to pane options and windows for window options
rather than all hooks being session options. These hooks are now window options:
window-layout-changed
window-linked
window-pane-changed
window-renamed
window-unlinked
And these now pane options:
pane-died
pane-exited
pane-focus-in
pane-focus-out
pane-mode-changed
pane-set-clipboard
Any existing configurations using these hooks on a session rather than
globally (that is, set-hook or set-option without -g) may need to be changed.
* Show signal names when a process exits with remain-on-exit on platforms which
have a way to get them.
* Start menu with top item selected if no mouse and use mode-style for the
selected item.
* Add a copy-command option and change copy-pipe and friends to pipe to it if
used without arguments, allows all the default copy key bindings to be
changed to pipe with one option rather than needing to change each key
binding individually.
* Tidy up the terminal detection and feature code and add named sets of
terminal features, each of which are defined in one place and map to a
builtin set of terminfo(5) capabilities. Features can be specified based on
TERM with a new terminal-features option or with the -T flag when running
tmux. tmux will also detect a few common terminals from the DA and DSR
responses.
This is intended to make it easier to configure tmux's use of terminfo(5)
even in the presence of outdated ncurses(3) or terminfo(5) databases or for
features which do not yet have a terminfo(5) entry. Instead of having to grok
terminfo(5) capability names and what they should be set to in the
terminal-overrides option, the user can hopefully just give tmux a feature
name and let it do the right thing.
The terminal-overrides option remains both for backwards compatibility and to
allow tweaks of individual capabilities.
* Support mintty's application escape sequence (means tmux doesn't have to
delay to wait for Escape, so no need to reduce escape-time when using
mintty).
* Change so main-pane-width and height can be given as a percentage.
* Support for the iTerm2 synchronized updates feature (allows the terminal to
avoid unnecessary drawing while output is still in progress).
* Make the mouse_word and mouse_line formats work in copy mode and enable the
default pane menu in copy mode.
* Add a -T flag to resize-pane to trim lines below the cursor, moving lines out
of the history.
* Add a way to mark environment variables as "hidden" so they can be used by
tmux (for example in formats) but are not set in the environment for new
panes. set-environment and show-environment have a new -h flag and there is a
new %hidden statement for the configuration file.
* Change default position for display-menu -x and -y to centre rather than top
left.
* Add support for per-client transient popups, similar to menus but which are
connected to an external command (like a pane). These are created with new
command display-popup.
* Change double and triple click bindings so that only one is fired (previously
double click was fired on the way to triple click). Also add default double
and triple click bindings to copy the word or line under the cursor and
change the existing bindings in copy mode to do the same.
* Add a default binding for button 2 to paste.
* Add -d flag to run-shell to delay before running the command and allow it to
run without a command so it just delays.
* Add C-g to cancel command prompt with vi keys as well as emacs, and q in
command mode.
* When the server socket is given with -S, create it with umask 177 instead of
117 (because it may not be in a safe directory like the default directory in
/tmp).
* Add a copy-mode -H flag to hide the position marker in the top right.
* Add number operators for formats (+, -, *, / and m),

** Bug fixes
cp now copies /dev/fd/N correctly on platforms like Solaris where
it is a character-special file whose minor device number is N.
[bug introduced in fileutils-4.1.6]
dd conv=fdatasync no longer reports a "Bad file descriptor" error
when fdatasync is interrupted, and dd now retries interrupted calls
to close, fdatasync, fstat and fsync instead of incorrectly
reporting an "Interrupted system call" error.
[bugs introduced in coreutils-6.0]
df now correctly parses the /proc/self/mountinfo file for unusual entries
like ones with '\r' in a field value ("mount -t tmpfs tmpfs /foo$'\r'bar"),
when the source field is empty ('mount -t tmpfs "" /mnt'), and when the
filesystem type contains characters like a blank which need escaping.
[bugs introduced in coreutils-8.24 with the introduction of reading
the /proc/self/mountinfo file]
factor again outputs immediately when stdout is a tty but stdin is not.
[bug introduced in coreutils-8.24]
ln works again on old systems without O_DIRECTORY support (like Solaris 10),
and on systems where symlink ("x", ".") fails with errno == EINVAL
(like Solaris 10 and Solaris 11).
[bug introduced in coreutils-8.31]
rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty now works correctly for directories
that fail to be removed due to permission issues. Previously the exit status
was reversed, failing for non empty and succeeding for empty directories.
[bug introduced in coreutils-6.11]
'shuf -r -n 0 file' no longer mistakenly reads from standard input.
[bug introduced with the --repeat feature in coreutils-8.22]
split no longer reports a "output file suffixes exhausted" error
when the specified number of files is evenly divisible by 10, 16, 26,
for --numeric, --hex, or default alphabetic suffixes respectively.
[bug introduced in coreutils-8.24]
seq no longer prints an extra line under certain circumstances (such as
'seq -f "%g " 1000000 1000000').
[bug introduced in coreutils-6.10]
** Changes in behavior
Several programs now check that numbers end properly. For example,
'du -d 1x' now reports an error instead of silently ignoring the 'x'.
Affected programs and options include du -d, expr's numeric operands
on non-GMP builds, install -g and -o, ls's TABSIZE environment
variable, mknod b and c, ptx -g and -w, shuf -n, and sort --batch-size
and --parallel.
date now parses military time zones in accordance with common usage:
"A" to "M" are equivalent to UTC+1 to UTC+12
"N" to "Y" are equivalent to UTC-1 to UTC-12
"Z" is "zulu" time (UTC).
For example, 'date -d "09:00B" is now equivalent to 9am in UTC+2 time zone.
Previously, military time zones were parsed according to the obsolete
rfc822, with their value negated (e.g., "B" was equivalent to UTC-2).
[The old behavior was introduced in sh-utils 2.0.15 ca. 1999, predating
coreutils package.]
ls issues an error message on a removed directory, on GNU/Linux systems.
Previously no error and no entries were output, and so indistinguishable
from an empty directory, with default ls options.
uniq no longer uses strcoll() to determine string equivalence,
and so will operate more efficiently and consistently.
** New Features
ls now supports the --time=birth option to display and sort by
file creation time, where available.
od --skip-bytes now can use lseek even if the input is not a regular
file, greatly improving performance in some cases.
stat(1) supports a new --cached= option, used on systems with statx(2)
to control cache coherency of file system attributes,
useful on network file systems.
** Improvements
stat and ls now use the statx() system call where available, which can
operate more efficiently by only retrieving requested attributes.
stat and tail now know about the "binderfs", "dma-buf-fs", "erofs",
"ppc-cmm-fs", and "z3fold" file systems.
stat -f -c%T now reports the file system type, and tail -f uses inotify.
** Build-related
gzip-compressed tarballs are distributed once again
0.45
----
New features:
- --only-cook '!<regexp>' enables "confident mode" where every
possible prompt that matches a regexp is cooked immediately
(so that even prompts that get printed when handling a large
paste are cooked)
- --no-children (-N) now enables direct mode whenever the client
switches to the alternate screen. This makes editors and pagers
usable even when using --always-readline on non-linux systems
- when run inside an emacs shell buffer, rlwrap will execute the
client instead of wrapping it (just as when stdin is not a
terminal)
- --always-echo echoes user input even when the client has
switched off ECHO.
- filter "makefilter" to easily employ shell commands (like sed,
or grep) as rlwrap filters (extending/superseding "outfilter")
- filters can change (some) bindable and internal readline
variables with a new RlwrapFilter method tweak_readline_oob()
Bug Fixes:
- rlwrap correctly handles bracketed paste
- --ansi-colour-aware (-A) didn't do anything at all. Now it
recognises colour codes as well as common control codes like
window titles. --ansi-colour-aware="!" will "bleach" the
prompt, i.e. remove all colour codes
- On AIX, rlwrap would quit if client wrote 0 bytes
- a round of testing on Polarhome to weed out some
incompatibilities with older Unix systems

New dialog: additions
In various places, it should be possible to get more content such as macros or
templates from external storage. This requirement is now fulfilled with the
Additions Dialog. blog post (Yusuf Keten, GSoC; mentors: Muhammet Kara
(Collabora), Heiko Tietze)
AdditionsDialog in LibreOffice
What and why?
Without this dialog, when we want to install an extension we need to search it
from the webpage, download and install it using the Extension Manager. With
this dialog, we can now get and install extensions with one-click. This dialog
is appropriate for searching and installing not only general extensions but
also other types of extensions such as templates, macros, icons, etc. The main
purpose of creating this dialog is to improve user experience. Therefore,
nearly every detail of the extensions exist in the user interface. This
simplicity is designed and created thanks to the web API, power of extension
manager, and additions dialog.
AdditionsDialog usage

pkgsrc changes:
- Remove patch-configure.ac, now also applied upstream
Changes:
0.44
----
- rlwrap doesn't (yet) work with bracketed-paste. As this is
enabled by default from readline-8.1 onwards, rlwrap disables
it, even if specified in .inputrc. A multi-line paste will
therefore (still) behave as multiple 1-line pastes
- rlwrap is now aware of multi-byte characters and correctly
handles prompts (or things that look like prompts, e.g.
progress indicators) that contain them, according to your
locale.
- rlwrap filters can now also filter signals (see
RlwrapFilter(3pm)), changing them, or providing extra input to
the rlwrapped command.
- Key *sequences* can now be bound to rlwrap-direct-keypress
(using a new readline command rlwrap-direct-prefix) (contributed
by Yuri d'Elia)
- configure will correctly identify whether --mirror-arguments
will work, even on 1-processor systems
- the handle_hotkey filter has a handler definition that enables
fuzzy history search using fzf
- binding accept-line to a key would make that key mess up the
display
- The debug log is more readable (e.g. by marking debug lines
with "parent", "child" or "filter")

Add a foreground mode with tmate -F. This is useful when tmate is used only for remote access. See https://tmate.io/#remote_access
Add SSH key access control. Run tmate with -a authorized_keys or set tmate-authorized-keys in the tmate configuration file. This will allow access to tmate to only SSH clients with keys contained in the authorized keys file. See https://tmate.io/#access_control
SSH keys are no longer needed to use tmate

s6-portable-utils is a set of tiny general Unix utilities, often performing
well-known tasks such as cut and grep, but optimized for simplicity and
small size. They were designed for embedded systems and other constrained
environments, but they work everywhere.
Other set of small utilities are usually system-specific; for instance, the
(otherwise excellent) BusyBox project only works on Linux.
This package depends on ICU headers that now unconditionally expect C99
features, so it requires C99 just as ICU does. Patch around ICU API
changes that caused related breakages.
