Some troubleshooting after the latest patches by Krister Walfridsson.
added features/bug fixes.
1) Fix <Meta> key problem with Mac OS X (Darwin). The Apple Command Key
is mapped to Mod2Mask by default. This will be treated as the <Meta>
(or <Alt>) key in tgif.
2) Fix a bug with importing an EPS file generated by ps2epsi. Thanks to
Ambrose Li <acli@ada.dhs.org> for the patch.
3) Fix tgif to be able to import an EPS file with an 8 bit-per-sample
preview bitmap (such as the ones generated by ps2epsi).
4) Get tgif to work with out-of-the-box xcin on Red Hat Linux. Thanks to
Ambrose Li <acli@ada.dhs.org> for all the help.
5) Add support a new built-in double-byte input method, tgtwb5, to
support the
input of big5 encoded traditional Chinese characters using a graphical
zhu-yin-fu-hao keypad. This input method is activated by typing
<Cntrl><Space> when a double-byte chinese font is selected.
6) Add chat to tgwb.
7) Support a new commandline option "-sbim xim" to use XIM as the input
method for single-byte fonts. This is useful if the X Keyboard
Extension
is used in inputing international characters (with dead keys).
Thanks to Daniel Sadoc Menasche <sadoc@land.ufrj.br> for the
contribution.
8) Add a new X default, Tgif.IgnoreSlideShowOfffsetsInFile, so that the
slideshow offsets stored in a file can be ignored in the slideshow
mode.
The reason for this is that the offsets mainly depends on the display
and not on the content of the file. The slideshow offsets should
be set
using the Tgif.SlideShowWindowOffset X default.
9) Add a new LaTeX equation symbol file "eq4-lyx-ps2epsi.sym" in the
release
to edit the equation with LyX. Thanks to Ed Gatzke <gatzke@sc.edu>
for the contribution.
10) Update "ru.po". Thanks to Andrew W. Nosenko for the update.
11) Add -D__EMX__ in Tgif.tmpl-cygwin to fix the problem with calling
stat()
on pathnames that begins with "//". Thanks to Dr. Ing. Dieter
Jurzitza
<Dieter.Jurzitza@t-online.de> for pointing out the problem.
12) Add support for importing tgif files with the import_file() internal
command.
13) Add the following new internal commands:
shuffle_obj_to_bottom(<obj_name>)
set_file_unsavable()
* Hebrew translation!
* Right-to-left language support (for Hebrew, for example).
* Updated Korean translations.
* UTF-8 support in the Text Tool!
* Added 'The Gimp' to docs/PNG.txt
* Lithuanian translation.
* Fixed bug that would cause some translated stamp sounds to not load.
* Added Dutch translation of (older version of) HTML documentation.
* Updated Polish translations.
* Added Polish version of manpage.
* Fixed a few typos in the manpage.
* Fixed UTF-8 word-wrapping bug when there were no spaces
* When a locale requiring its own font can't be used because the font
is missing, Tux Paint STILL didn't work right. Fixed. (Set $LC_ALL=C)
* Added a set of square brushes (similar to the various round ones).
* Added "--nostamps" option to disable stamp tool.
(When it's not needed, they just take time to load, and RAM to store.)
* Added missing "--nosysconfig" to "--help" usage output.
* Increased MAX_FILES from 256 to 2048. Users with more than 128 images
saved were unable to load the newest images! (Hopefully 1024 saved
files is sufficient.)
* Thumbnails now saved to a ".thumbs" subdirectory under "saved".
(Old thumbnails will still be loaded, if found. Currently, the old
thumbnails will still be saved in the old location, not under .thumbs)
* Updated tuxpaint-import to create .thumbs subdirectory, and put new
thumbnails there.
* "Thick" and "Thin" Magic Tools made 'stronger.'
Changes:
* Word-wrap fix
* Included two logos for DivX and Ogg Vorbis
* Added option to output slim CD cover cases with page order switched
* Added --no-cover-plaque and --number-in-set <string>
* Updated spec file to match 2.6.1
Avidemux is a graphical tool to edit video. It can open AVI, MPEG, Nuppelvideo
and BMPs. Most common codecs are supported (M-JPEG, MPEG, DivX, Xvid, huffyuv,
WMA, etc.) thanks to libavcodec. Video can be edited, cut, appended, filtered
(resize/crop/denoise), and re-encoded to either AVI (DivX/Xvid) or MPEG 1/2.
Note that this package does not support DivX.
GTKsee is an image viewer/browser. The browser shows thumbnails, you
can quickly watch a picture in large or fullscreen by simply tapping
on return. Also has slideshow capabilities.

LibGGIWMH is an LibGGI extension for GGI targets that are window
system based to allow access to things like setting the title bar,
resizing, etc.
LibGGIGCP is a generic color and palette management extension. It
supports conversion between different color spaces such as RGBA,
YUV, HSV, and CMYK. Furthermore it supports a generic color-blending,
which can also be used for translucency effects.
Default Mesa Version should be 3.4.2, so that people who don't care and have
GL in XF don't need to build the whole thing. If MESA_REQD is set to 5.0.1
(as, for example, by MesaDemos), require version 5.0.1 of MesaLib, gl* etc.
If libGL.so.5 is found to be present on the system, force MESA_REQD to be
5.0.1 to avoid accidental downgrades if MESA_REQD was not specified before-
hand.

This version is based on PLplot-5.2.1, which is a large step forward
compared to PLplot-5.0.4 that yPlot was based on before. For example,
the egregious rendering bugs in example 8 (doc/x08.i) are now long
gone, and the revised doc/x08.i and doc/x11.i show off some new
contouring functionality that is now available with PLplot 3D
plotting. The doc/x??.i examples from yPlot produce identical results
to the corresponding C examples from PLplot which is an excellent test
of the yPlot interface to PLplot. Note the yPlot API changes and
additions in the CHANGES file.
This only lists new features, there are many bugfixes.
* Apply a patch provided Kawamura Masao, relating to (a) errors in
the documentation of file locations and (b) a programming error
hidden behind an unset precompiler flag.
* Add `sed' RPN operator, to work on strings
* Add `skewness' and `kurtosis' RPN operators, to work on columns
* In the documentation, change the names of some variables to be
clearer: `ll_x' is now written `xleft', etc.
* Add RPN binary operators `and', `or' for logical operations,
along with negation operator `not'
* Add `draw arc' command
* Add `set x axis labels' and `set y axis labels' commands.
* Permit specification of `pt' units for `draw label', `draw box',
`draw symbol at', and `draw line from'.
* Add `set clip to curve' command. _Caution:_
this needs extension, and may have a bug if called twice in
succession [but is this with an intervening `set clip off']
* Add `group' and `end group' commands, in preparation for SVG
output. So far these commands do nothing, and are basically just a
signal that users should not create commands with these names
since Gri will need them soon.
* Add `..xinc..' and `..yinc..' builtin variables.
* Make the `open' command accept URLs as filenames.
things are more complex than they seem, so until we've figured out how to
do this properly go back to what used to work (ie default back to 5.0.1)
Problems pointed out by tron@ and abs@.
All other Mesa packages assume a default of 3.4.2, so set this here, too.
The reasoning behind this is that 3.4.2 is part of XF, so that users/packages
that don't explicitly need version 5.x don't need to build it.
program called "animate". By renaming the program to "gv-animate" in this

* Patch from Claes Nasten <pekdon@gmx.net>
* Enhances thumbnail related options:
First, specifying -t would break the $f param to -exec.
Second, the thumbnail and the screenshot got different timestamps.
Third, one weren't able to specify geometry with -t.
* Update for latest giblib. Requires latest release now.
Changes since version 5.5.6:
- File descriptor leak prevented temporary disk pixel cache from being
removed under Windows.
- Color profile patches provided by (dge at softec.st).
- West/East geometry was computed with image width rather than height.
- The MNG encoder failed to set the JNG bit in the simplicity profile.
- The MNG encoder failed to write FRAM chunks when all images were JNG.
- The JNG encoder wrote the wrong alpha_sample_depth for opaque images.
- Fixed JPEG EXIF problem.
- Added -thumbnail as an option to the utilities.

- png.c would not compile with libpng versions older than libpng-0.95,
due to bugs introduced in ImageMagick version 5.5.2.
- Implemented -random-threshold and -ordered-dither options.

at Q:32.
- Now recognize 32-bit hex color specifications, patches provided by
Bob Friesenhahn.
- Started API wrappers based on Bob Friesenhahn's method suggestions.
- Text annotations that started with '\n' were not rendered correctly.
- Removed artifacts from images rotated with a small number of degrees.
- Minor bug fix in the ParseGeometry() method.

pointer; previously it returned a PixelPacket structure.
- You can now specify an image geometry as an image file (e.g. -geometry
image.jpg).
- Use new temporary file manager for JNG components.
- Added support for 12-bit TIFF images.
- Added improved locale message subsystem (contributed by Kyle Shorter).
- Removed a bias from SampleImage() and DrawAffineImage() (bug report
by Glenn Randers-Pehrson).
- PerlMagick now recognizes percent values for fuzz or opacity.
- Not enough memory allocated for reading PCX (bug report by Trevor
Willis).
- There were artifacts when using the Bessel function for resizing
(bug report by Bob Friesenhahn).
- Added -resample to convert to change the resolution of an image.
- Added a temporary file manager that prevents race conditions and
removes any remaining files on exit.
- Prepped ImageMagick to work with Visual C++ 7.0 under Windows.
The Windows configure patches came from William Radcliffe.
- The refresh of the display image window no longer lags when the
magnify window overlay it.
- Numerous code clean-up and minor speed ups based on problem areas
identified in the Graphics-Magick ChangeLog.
Changes:
Fixed pad_offset for the 16 bits per pixel case. This means that you
will no longer get warped images that appear to be tilting over
sideways on platforms with this pixel depth, when viewing a file with
an odd number of X entries. Also added the "-frames" option, but it is
not enabled by default in the configure file.
- Gimp Import/Load plugin
- Bugfixes
- Few bugfixes
- All sorts of build and installation fixes

- Better font handling (stretch, style, variant, weight supported, inherited)
- Fixed crash with non-utf8 characters.
- Better ellipse rendering
- New functions to set rendering DPI
- Better handling of SVGs colors, gradients and images
- support dashes
- Includes a new gdk-pixbuf svg loader
- Includes a new gimp svg loader
- Now installs a binary that can rasterize svgs.
- New co-maintainer Dom Lachowicz
- Added new svg based gtk+ engine
- Handles SVGs a lot better. Especially with regards to units.
changes:
Version 1.1.4 adds improved build scripts, truetype/opentype font support,
memory mapping support also for non-Windows platforms, screen and clipboard
grabbing on Windows, support for CSS-style color strings, support for
IPTC/NAA and EXIF metadata, and more.
pkgsrc note:
We don't build the truetype component yet -- this might go into a separate
pkg to get more finegrained dependencies.
(Py-Imaging is supposed to work offline to, ie w/o X11.)
(I don't understand what distribution filenames are supposed to mean;
the code has a "0.4" in an internal version string, which looks better
than "Feb03"...)
- clean up post-patch target to be less broken...
- update to transcode 0.6.7. besides bug fixes, major changes are:
- Experimental support for decoding and encoding divx5.0.5. I used
divx4linux-20030428 for development and testing.
- Added support for scanning MP3 files. tcscan will print the number
of MP3 chunks and the average bitrate of the file. It also
calculate the maximum AVI overhead.
- Simple color support for runtime warnings and errors. If you don't
like it disable it with --color 0 or --colour 0. If the output of
transcode is written to a pipe or file it will be automatically
disabled.
XXX - it doesn't run "aclocal" because the generated aclocal.m4 is wrong
and missing various required parts. the first failure comes from missing
HAVE_DLFCN_H macro which causes the build to fail... this of course means
it complains about wrong version of automake, but it seems to work for now.
The Gtk module allows Perl access to the Gtk+ graphical user interface
library. You can find more information about Gtk+ on http://www.gtk.org.
The Perl binding tries to follow the C interface as much as possible,
providing at the same time a fully object-oriented interface and
Perl-style calling conventions.
This is the Gtk::Gdk::Pixbuf extention of the Gtk module.
transcode is a text console video-stream processing tool.
It supports elementary video and audio frame transformations.
Some example modules are included to enable import of MPEG-1/2,
Digital Video, and other formats. It also includes export
modules for writing to AVI files with DivX, OpenDivX, XviD,
Digital Video or other codecs. Direct DVD transcoding is also
supported. A set of tools is available to extract and decode
the sources into raw video/audio streams for import and to
enable post-processing of AVI files.
Added EXIF sidebar to main window (ctrl+e to toggle display).
Added sort manager for quickly sorting images into directories (ctrl+s).
Added bg and id translations.
Updated es and nl translations.
Added bookmarks to file dialogs.
Displayed Image now refreshes when file is updated.
Fix EXIF reader file descriptor leak.
Fix EXIF exposure display.
Fix Solaris compile.
now and not NetBSD-*-arm32. Changes include one or more of:
- Change MACHINE_ARCH == arm32 to also match arm
- Where ONLY_FOR_PLATFORM includes NetBSD-*-arm32, add NetBSD-*-arm
- Where BROKEN or worked around for arm gcc bugs, set USE_GCC3
The last may shake out a few more broken packages the next bulk build.
(alternatively, we could have renamed one to '<pkgname>-x11', but for the
element of least surprise, the default remains x11 enabled).
This will work much better than the previous attempt to build two packages

- Changed behavior of `--crop X,Y+WIDTHxHEIGHT' option when WIDTH or HEIGHT
is negative. Previously, zero or negative WIDTH and HEIGHT referred to
the image's entire width or height. Thus, the option `--crop 10,0+0x0'
would always lead to an error, because the crop left position (10) plus
the crop width (the image width) was 10 pixels beyond the image edge. The
new behavior measures zero or negative WIDTH and HEIGHT relative to the
image's bottom-right corner.

be fewer spurious warnings.

moz-mplayer is a plugin for Gecko based browsers that uses mplayer to play
videos from websites. This plugin gives Netscape, Mozilla and Konqueror
the ability to play videos off the net.
Package submitted by Juan RP via pkgsrc-wip with small modifications by me.
Extract of changes:
- a fix in the Gzip stream reader, it couldn't read certain .gz files
properly due to a small typo. In certain cases, FreeType could also
loop endlessly when trying to load tiny gzipped files.
- certain fonts couldn't be loaded by 2.1.3 because they lacked a
Unicode charmap (e.g. SYMBOL.TTF). FreeType erroneously rejected
them.
- the CFF loader was modified to accept fonts which only
contain a subset of their reference charset. This prevented the
correct use of PDF-embedded fonts.
- the logic to detect Unicode charmaps has been modified. this is required
to support fonts which include both 16-bit and 32-bit charmaps (like
very recent asian ones) using the new 10 and 12 SFNT formats.
- the TrueType loader now limits the depth of composite glyphs. This is
necessary to prevent broken fonts to break the engine by blowing the
stack with recursive glyph definitions.
- the CMap cache is now capable of managing UCS-4 character codes that
are mapped through extended charmaps in recent TrueType/OpenType fonts
- the cache sub-system now properly manages out-of-memory conditions,
instead of blindly reporting them to the caller. This means that it
will try to empty the cache before restarting its allocations to see
if that can help.
- the PFR driver didn't return the list of available embedded bitmaps
properly.
- David Chester contributed some enhancements to the auto-hinter that
significantly increase the quality of its output. The Postscript hinter
was also improved in several ways..
- the FT_RENDER_MODE_LIGHT render mode was implemented
- a new API, called FT_Get_BDF_Property has been added to FT_BDF_H to
retrieve BDF properties from BDF _and_ PCF font files. THIS IS STILL
EXPERIMENTAL, since it hasn't been properly tested yet.
- a Windows FNT specific API has been added, mostly to access font
headers. This is used by Wine
- TrueType tables without a "hmtx" table are now tolerated when an
incremental interface is used. This happens for certain Type42 fonts
passed from Ghostscript to FreeType.
- the PFR font driver is now capable of returning the font family and
style names when they're available (instead of the sole "FontID"). This
is performed by parsing an *undocumented* portion of the font file !!
Changes are lots of bug fixes and minor enhancements (several pages
worth of it).
XXX Those two should probably be using a Makefile.common instead
XXX of just copying the appropriate bits.

ogmtools are a set of utilities for Ogg Media files (OGM) manipulation,
written by Moritz Bunkuns.
Ogg is a container format that can contains much more than a simple
Vorbis sound stream: notably, you can have a video stream, subtitles,
etc.
ogmtools are not meant to encode or decode anything, but will be used
complementary to mplayer/mencoder or any other media encoding utility.
ogmmerge will produce an OGM file from separated components, like an
audio track and a video track, and ogmdemux will have the inverse
behaviour. ogmsplit will cut a file into several parts, and ogminfo
will print information about the file. The last tool, dvdxchap is
used in combination with ogmmerge to add some special comments into
the resulting OGM file to provide chaptering with the player that
support it (the OggDS Windows filter takes advantage of that).

While here, also remove the no longer necessary CFLAGS after previous commit
in MesaLib and also add distinfo for MesaLib for non Mesa-5.0.
cdlablegen:
* added support for long options
* added some options to choose different colors for plaque background,
category, subcategory and text
* added a man page
* add /opt/lib/cdlabelgen/ to template search paths
* added: -M option, to print out envelope for a CD
* -v <very large number> is no longer an error, instead, all
items are printed on cover, none on the tray card.
* also added .spec file, from other sources on web, for RPM installs.
Use:
rpm -ta cdlabelgen-n.n.n.tgz
to create RPM [not tested]
* -v option to support splitting items array into items for cover,
and items for tray
* word wrap could result in 0 items, now ensures that #items >= 1
* fixed bug where -f <file> containing one item only was being skipped;
also added code to handle all kinds of end-of-line delimiters in the
items file - each line is considered to be one item, so need to
handle all kinds of EOLN characters.
* -w word wrap was not working, now should work better in all cases
* added -p option, pass to template.ps option to clip items
instead of auto_reducing them to fit to a column
* allow skipping either -c or -s option (or both)
* minor change to insert \n in @items - keeps PostScript DSC
compliant (as far as possible!) - line length should be < 255 chars
done to keep warning messages away when using GSview
template.ps:
* added support for plaque background color, category text color,
subcategory text color and text color
* increased normal cd case insert dimensions very slightly for better
fit
* removed the ISOLatin1 recoding of fonts; added %%BeginProlog DSC
comment - this allows piping output through the ogonkify program
which can recode in a number of encodings. see man page for more
information.
* fill2 background should fill two endcaps only, do not fill the extreme
right-hand tongue-cap, since the tongue-cap does not exist in normal
cd inserts
* added optional image translate arguments for -S and -T to
offset cover/tray image as required
* added -y: move entire printout up or down; ex: -y 1.5, for A4 paper size
* added -l: control width of cover/tray edge lines, 0 skips printing
edge lines entirely
* support printing of CD envelopes, merged in envelope template sent
by Ronald Rael Harvest <number6@cox.net>
* added variables to control left/right margins for both cover and tray
* both cover and tray can print list of items, uses two different
arrays containing the items
* add "fill2" option to fill image in tray and end-caps too
in addition to just filling the interior of the tray card
* -s <subban_string> would not print along the spine even when it would fit,
Rewrote make_endcap function.
* added larger bottom page offset - hopefully, will work on most
printers using A4 size (Europe)
* -p option now actually clips text (instead of just clipping
graphically - used to leave partial letters on the printout)
now full characters at the end of the string are omitted if needed
to fit the column
* major change to the font size and number of columns
computation for list of items
Added option to clip text instead of auto_reducing text to
fit to column
* images can be scaled to completely fill cover and tray card - so
they can be used as background images.
* added support directives {#BI} {#B} {#I}, appearing in input text,
make a line bold-italic, or bold, or italic respectively.
Directives must appear in column 1 of line.
* bug fix: in n columns output, if number of items was not a multiple
of pkgsrc:
- place -I${LOCALBASE}/freetype2 before -I${LOCALBASE}, since
otherwise freetype 1 headers might be used
- add -Wl,${RPATH_FLAG}
bump pkgrevision
Makefiles simply need to use this value often, for better or for
worse.
(2) Create a new variable FIX_RPATH that lists variables that should
be cleansed of -R or -rpath values if ${_USE_RPATH} is "no". By
default, FIX_RPATH contains LIBS, X11_LDFLAGS, and LDFLAGS, and
additional variables may be appended from package Makefiles.
Note that after this, the package installs cleanly without a problem,
indicating that jlam's fixes for PR pkg/19735 worked and the PR most likely
can be closed.

At the same time, move Mesa and friends to LOCALBASE rather than X11BASE, so
that they can be installed regardless of XF version. Introduce MESA_REQD variable

* UTF-8 stamp descriptions word-wrap around spaces.
* Support for more HTML escape codes in description files.
[ Not yet working ]
* ALT+F4 accepted as alternative to [Escape] (to quit)
by Tux Paint's main loop. Windows wasn't rending a 'Close Window'
event on that key combo, like it should (I think).
John Popplewell
2003.February.1 (0.9.9)
* When a locale requiring its own font can't be used because the font
is missing, Tux Paint now CORRECTLY switches back to default
($LANG=C, which for Tux Paint is 'American English')
* Locale-detection code made more robust. (Check LC_MESSAGES, not LC_ALL)
TOYAMA Shin-ichi
* Added support for some useful HTML escape sequences in stamp descriptions
(e.g., "´" for "á" ("a" with "'" over it))
Append ".esc" to the locale code (e.g., "fr.esc=...") in the ".txt"
description files.
* Wrote "docs/ESCAPES.txt", which covers valid escape sequences.
* Made 800x600 mode available at runtime, rather than just at compile-time
(available "--800x600" command-line option and "800x600=yes" in conf. file;
overridden by "--640x480" option, or "800x600=no" or "640x480=yes" in conf.)
NOTE: STILL EXPERIMENTAL! 640x480 mode is still default!
* Fixed 'Magic Tool' selector redraw bug in 800x600 mode.

It should help for very slow machines and using Tux Paint remotely
over a networked X display.
* The 'Circle' shape no longer switches into rotation mode
(since it never affected the shape!)

2002.November.3
* HTML documentation cleaned up (no warnings or errors from HTML Tidy!)

e.g., Korean will use "ko.ttf", if found, for translated strings.
Changes:
3.7.3
* Major: contributed code to re-add gamma, inverse normal, and
inverse error function

* Make Linux driver work with devfs
* Numerous bugfixes backported from development version, see ChangeLog
* A large number of documentation misprints have been fixed
3.7.2
* Major: we have removed code that was labeled with a
non-commercial use clause. The effect is that this
removes the gamma, inverse normal, and inverse error
function from platforms that have no native
implementation.
* Support for BeOS
* New terminal drivers: emf (Enhanced Metafile Format),
epslatex, ggi (General Graphics Interface), pdf, svg
(W3C Scalable Vector Graphics)

* Numerous bugfixes
1.0.5 (mar 1st 2003)
Only a small fix for progressive jpeg suspension problem.
This is the long-awaited final release containing the new 'dynamic MNG' feature
and bringing MNG compliance to near 100%!
1.0.5-rc3 (jan 20th 2003)
Minor bug-fixes and finalizing the accepted proposal (by official vote) for
the TERM/frame_delay changes on mng-list (nov-dec/2002).
1.0.5-rc2 (dec 9th 2002)
This contains fixes for a few minor details reported by the loyal testers.
It fixes some issues with the goframe/golayer/gotime processing and related
stuff. And it adds a way to disable playback-caching from within the MNG,
which is very useful for streaming-MNG encoders (such as gserver!).
1.0.5-rc1 (nov 1st 2002)
This fixes a few small problems and brings the TERM/MEND processing, with
respect to interframe_delay as per the current discussion on MNG-list,
up-to-date with the latest proposal.
1.0.5-b3 (oct 15th 2002)
Fairly quick after beta2, since that introduced a couple of unfortunate
booboo's and wasn't very workable. It also changes the standard configure
script to build a standard shared object similar to what I intended.
1.0.5-b2 (oct 9th 2002)
Second beta for next 1.0.5 release. This addresses some minor problems
detected during testing. It adds the proposed change to the MNG spec as
discussed on the "mng-list" recently; eg. Adam's option 4.
And it adds a little function to check at run-time if the lib is a beta or not.
1.0.5-b1 (sep 24th 2002)
First beta of a large maintenance release. This completes support of the MNG
specification to nearly 100% (PAST, PROM, delta-images, BACK image+tile).
It adds "dynamic" MNG and a few other neat routines as well as fixes several
bugs reported through SourceForge or to me directly.
- Translations updated to sync with the stable release.
* Fixes to exif information display.
* Fixed copy and move overwrite dialog logic.
* Fixed path entry in main window.
* Fixed missing translated text (utf8 warnings, blank menus, etc.).
* Misc bug fixes, more GTK 2 porting.
- Updated French and Spanish translations.
- Added Vietnamese translation.
- Tweaked behavior of 'view in new window' to honor multiple selections.
* Fixed copy and move overwrite dialog logic.
Package changes:
- Be a specific/verbose about dependencies' includes and libraries
directories
- Require Xaw type "standard"
- Install complete html documentation
- Add libiconv dependency
- Remove libgd documentation
- Add upcoming libcurl support in comments
Changes since version 1.8.10:
January 23, 2003
- declare this version 1.9
(3-level version numbering has been dropped now
that we have nightly snapshot builds with their
own extended numbering.)
- general
- config.h is no longer installed. config.h is generated by
./configure for the current build only. It may not be
applicable for derivative builds.
- improve ICONV configure tests
- lots of janitor-work to clean up warning messages from -Wall
- use @OBJEXT@ in Makefile.am so that .obj is used under cygwin
- fixes for Solaris builds
- use libpng-config if available
- reduce long build times due to touching ast_common.h too often
- improve dependency tracking. "make -j8" now works with distcc
- autogen.sh fixes to work on RH7.3, RH8.0, and Solaris.
- eliminate use of suffix rules which confused some makes.
- DOT language allows '+' for concatenation of quoted strings
- dot, neato, twopi
- fix bugs 209, 210, 214, 216, 217, 222, 224, 225, 229,
230, 233, 236, 237
- update gd into alignment with gd-2.0.9
- change to make libagraph output compatible with libgraph input
- add shapes: septagon, pentagon, a_ediamond, rect, rectangle
- introduce "ND_...", "ED_...", "GD_...", node/edge/graph-data
accessor macros in partial preparation for use of
libagraph in dot.
- add libdotneato.so, dotneato.h, dotneato-config
to aid use of dot libraries by user apps based
on installed graphviz-devel rpm and without access
to graphviz sources.
- new xdot output format providing detailed drawing instructions
- new -y command line flag, inverts y coordinates
- support multple -T when -o given, as in:
cat xxx.dot | dot -Tpng -Tcmap -o xxx
which produces xxx.png and xxx.cmap from a single
layout computation. Intended for use in CGI programs.
- agraph
- correct callback ordering for deletions
- tools
- add gxl2dot and dot2gxl for GXL language conversions
- gvui now provides *map output
- tcldot, tcldgr, tcldgl
- improve tcl8.4 support
- extend search path for tcl.h to include /usr/local/include/tcl8.4/
in support of BSD install conventions.
- dynagraph
- many fixes
- change to not build dynagraph by default (use --with-dynagraph)
- docs
- dotguide updates
Changes:
- Fix http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=169911
- Start of IPC code, not used yet.
- Experimental speedup for caption editing. Caches the bg pixmap for the
image (which doesn't change when you're just editing a caption) so only
the overlay needs to be re-rendered on each change to the caption.
Definitely makes a difference when editing captions on a large,
fullscreen image.
- Tweak event handling - don't nuke queued keyevents when we're accepting
input for caption entry.
- Fixed wrapping for long lines with no spaces
- Caption editing, also requested by David Blackman <david@whizziwig.com>
Hit 'c', edit caption, enter to confirm the changes or Escape to revert.
(Only when --captions-path has been specified).
- Spotted a couple of minor bugs as I went through stuff, fixed those two.
- New option --captions-path. Specify a path (relative to each image) to
a directory with captions in and feh will overlay them on the image. It
even does text wrapping and centering!
Example, run feh --captions-path captions testimages for image
testimages/donna1.jpg, feh will look for a caption in
testimages/captions/donna1.jpg.txt

rebuild the documentation database at install/deinstall time. This means
that:
- PLIST's do not need to call scrollkeeper-{update,rebuilddb} directly;
this is done by a bsd.pkg.install.mk template.
- The share/omf directory is only removed by scrollkeeper, which is the
last package in the dependancy tree.
- PKGREVISION is bumped.

packages can now use audio/oss for OSS audio support. Convert to use
buildlink2 and make libflash.so link against the proper libraries so
that all inter-library dependencies are recorded. Also build moz-flash
using libtool instead of guessing at the link command for the shared
module.
Film Gimp is an image retouching and painting tool with features similar to
GIMP and Adobe Photoshop, and is recognized as a tool for motion picture
artists; however, anyone who wants to retouch or paint images can use Film
Gimp. The primary feature of Film Gimp is its vast dynamic range: 16-bits
per channel (64-bit RGBA). The extended dynamic range of Film Gimp appeals
not just to 35mm cinematographers, but to 35mm still photographers as well.
Still photographers can think of Film Gimp as having many more F-stops of
range, of being capable of capturing much more subtle nuances of color in
a vast blue sky for instance. Film Gimp handles 8-bit, 16-bit linear, and
16-bit float images.
have it be automatically included by bsd.pkg.mk if USE_PKGINSTALL is set
to "YES". This enforces the requirement that bsd.pkg.install.mk be
included at the end of a package Makefile. Idea suggested by Julio M.
Merino Vidal <jmmv at menta.net>.
bsd.pkg.mk, to completely master all CFLAGS settings. This fixes the build
in the MPLAYER_ENABLE_RUNTIME_CPU_DETECTION=NO case (PR pkg/19946).
This isn't the only way this package wantonly disregards buildlink's rule.
In any case, binary packages are still problematic, even with the runtime
detection, as one of the dependencies (audio/faad2) may not be distributed
as a binary.
changes:
Added a movie toolbar in image view (include preview on thumbnail window).
Changed player toolbar as slideshow toolbar.
Updated franch translation.

* ditch wmf_gd_image_free(); api_destroy takes care of the image (fjf)
* add new wmf_display_size() function which returns integer
size of image for display; io-wmf loader update (dom)
* add two convenience functions to xgd device layer for
manipulating GD image post-conversion (fjf)
* give libwmflite its own interface/binary numbers (fjf)
* change gd.c (add _tpixels member to gdImageStruct)
- now allocates contiguous array for truecolor pixels (fjf)
* gdk-pixbuf plugin added (dom); config update (fjf)

static libraries.
- Use x11/kde3/files/foo_main.cpp instead of creating N copies with
patches.
- Some other PLIST fixes
- Fix PR 19848. kspell doesn't find dictionaries.

(Not portability) changes since 0.18:
* Made the GIF loader handle animations with frames whose bounds go outside
of the base image's bounds (Federico).
* Made the GIF loader handle zero-sized frames that GifBuilder and
similar crap spits sometimes (Federico).
* The PNM loader doesn't abort() anymore if it cannot allocate memory
(Federico).
* Fixed a g_object_unref() -> gdk_pixbuf_unref() thinko (Federico).
* Merged the patch from Red Hat Linux 8.0 to fix the crash on
corrupted/short GIFs - Ximian 29040 (patch by Elliot Lee).
* Fixed the RGB 565 LSB -> MSB case in gdk-pixbuf-drawable - 79463
(Federico).
* Fixed the update region notification in the BMP loader (Federico).
* Merged the BMP loader changes from GTK+ HEAD -- check all reallocs,
fix 16bpp BI_RGB thinko, properly handle BI_RLE4 and skips and jumps
(changes by Matthias Clasen).
* Merged the ICO loader changes from GTK+ HEAD (changes by Matthias
Clasen).
* Merged changes from gtk+/gdk-pixbuf HEAD into the JPEG loader --
fixes CMYK JPEG problems (changes by Matthias Clasen).
* Experimental speedup for caption editing. Caches the bg pixmap for the
image (which doesn't change when you're just editing a caption) so only
the overlay needs to be re-rendered on each change to the caption.
Definitely makes a difference when editing captions on a large, fullscreen
image.
* Tweak event handling - don't nuke queued keyevents when we're accepting
input for caption entry.
* Fixed wrapping for long lines with no spaces
* Caption editing, also requested by David Blackman <david@whizziwig.com>
Hit 'c', edit caption, enter to confirm the changes or Escape to revert.
(Only when --captions-path has been specified).
* Spotted a couple of minor bugs as I went through stuff, fixed those two.
* New option --captions-path. Specify a path (relative to each image) to a
directory with captions in and feh will overlay them on the image. It even
does text wrapping and centering!
Example, run feh --captions-path captions testimages
for image testimages/donna1.jpg, feh will look for a caption in
testimages/captions/donna1.jpg.txt
* Fixed bug - segv when last image in slideshow is deleted.

art_render_svp_callback_span, art_render_svp_callback_opacity,
art_render_svp_callback_opacity_span): if no runs would
normally be emitted, but start is greater than zero, emit a
single run covering the entire width of the rendered region.
* autogen.sh: hardcode aclocal-1.4/automake-1.4 so that users with
both automake 1.6 and 1.4 installed get the right automake. Means

The exiftags utility parses a specified JPEG file or, by default,
its standard input, looking for a JPEG APP1 section containing Exif
(Exchangeable Image File) image metadata. The properties contained
in these data are then printed to the standard output. Digital
cameras typically add Exif data to the image files they produce,
containing information about the camera and digitized image.
The program supports a variety of cameras, and includes additional
support for a portion of the maker notes for Canon, Casio, Fuji,
Nikon, and Olympus cameras. Currently this program runs under
Windows and Unix-like operating systems.
An included companion utility, exifcom, displays and writes the
UserComment Exif tag that some cameras include in the image metadata
they create. This program is useful for recording caption or location
information in the image file itself.

This version contains mainly code cleanups (including rewritten
gif89 & svgalib output), warning fixes, and DOCS updates. Several
small bugs were fixed and a possible 20% slowdown of libavcodec
was solved. The VIDIX part improved a bit, a new driver for the
Trident Cyberblade chip was added, and bugs in the Radeon driver
were fixed. Vidix now can use svgalib's kernel helper instead of
the buggy dha module, and is usable together with the SVGAlib. This
version introduces experimental support for XMMS input (demuxer+codecs)
plugins too, and support for mp3lame presets has been added.
Package change: Install arial-18-iso-8859-1 as default font,
overridable by user (with ~/.mplayer/font), as requested by veego.
* libexif/exif-data.h: Introduce an array of ExifContents. This
doesn't break binary compatibility, but it breaks compilation.
Do something like "%s/->ifd_0/->ifd[EXIF_IFD_0]" in your source
code to make it compile again.

This is only half of the story. Adding an alpha channel to
16-bit *grayscale* images with png_do_read_filler() exhibits
the same bug, and pngcrush crashes if I try to do it.
To fix, at lines 1892, 1893, 1910, and 1911 of pngrtran.c
change "row_width" to "row_width * 2"
Note that applications that do not add an alpha channel via
png_set_filler(), and any applications that do, but reduce 16-bit
samples to 8 bit via png_set_strip_16() are invulnerable to
the bug. Pngcrush is the only application that I know of
that uses png_set_filler() without also using png_set_strip_16().

From the discussion in the archive, it appears to be unlikely that the
bug could be exploited by a malicious web-server, chiefly because the
operation that triggers it is more likely to be carried out by an image
manipulation program (i.e. pngcrush), than by a web browser.

Change MAINTAINER (OK'ed by tron)
Changes:
November 26th, 2002 ivtools-1.0.7
- fixes for compiling with gcc-3.2 using ACE (on RedHat 6.2)
- new comdraw funcs submitted by Secil Ugurel:
- migrate glyphs/text-editor to stand-alone ivtext.
- add Quit option under File menu to ivtext..
- preliminary support for SVG export. For those interested in playing
along at home, ivtools now supports export of line graphics via SVG,
with support for variable widths, colors, and dash-patterns, as well
as rectangle export with fill colors that are blends of foreground and
background (plus none fill).
- refactor OverlayPS::idraw_format to be a pair of set/get methods
where the get method overrides the internal static member value
(_idraw_format) with the value of an idraw_format flag on an
associated Command if there is one, either OvExportCmd or OvPrintCmd.
- the export dialog box now defaults to everything if nothing is selected
in the drawing editor.
- fix drawserv attribute expression propogation used for Null
Convention Logic emulation (http://www.theseus.com).
- a new version number 13 for the idraw format adds support for
executable fonts (as opposed to static fonts). Required by recent
versions of RedHat Linux.
- fix out-of-order destruction of member objects of the central
Unidraw object at program termination.
- disable use of X11 shared memory extension for MacOS X. This may
only be a problem with 10.1, or only be a problem with XFree86 4.2, so
it may be reinstated in the future.
- customize iostream include files for MacOS X Jaguar (10.2), to mask
the difference between Apple's version of gcc-3.1 libstdc++ and
everyone elses. This is untested, so let me know if it worked for you.
- apply diffs generated by Ben Hines in creating a fink package for
Jaguar (MacOS X 10.2)
August 2nd, 2002 ivtools-1.0.6
- more changes for compiling with gcc-2.96 on RedHat 7.*
August 1st, 2002 ivtools-1.0.5
- various compile time fixes for Solaris and Cygwin.
- a proper fix for handling non-idraw PostScript. An improper fix was
introduced in ivtools-1.0.3 that made all idraw format files get
filtered through pstoedit (if you had it). Pointed out by Todd Gruhn.
- changes required to compile ivtools with gcc-3.1. Most all in the area
of migrating from use of an fstream constructor that accepted a FILE*
to use of a derivative class (__gnu_cxx::stdio_filebuf<char>) that does
the same. Wrapped up the difference between 3.0.* and 3.1 by
conditionally defining a fileptr_fstream in src/include/ivstd/fstream.h
to filebuf for 3.0.* and __gnu_cxx::stdio_filebuf<char> for 3.1.
** Constant evolution of the behavior and API of filebuf has been the
single most challenging aspect of keeping ivtools compiling with gcc
and working for the past decade. I really hope things will be stable
for the next decade. **
- fixes for using ACE and ivtools with gcc-3.1
- fix up compiling with ACE using less than gcc-3.*
- disable incremental display while incrementally loading from a URL.
A placeholder raster still gets inserted before the connection is
established, and the rest of the download and display is asynchronous,
which avoids hanging on a net connection.
- compilation fixes based on feedback from Gregory Kriehn. Mostly
adding #include <string.h> where missing. Don't know why this wasn't
a problem in every environment. Should improve support for RedHat 7.*.
June 21st, 2002 ivtools-1.0.4
- give special meaning to a set of parentheses that proceed the
tuple operator ",", by adding an extra level of nesting to the
resultant list. Before the expression "(1,2),(3,4)" yielded
"{1,2,{3,4}}". Now it yields "{{1,2},{3,4}}" as one might expect.
This anomaly stemmed from the fact the tuple operator "," works
by concatenating its right-hand argument to its left-hand argument
if the left-hand argument is already a list (that's how the
interpreter concatenates a compound tuple-expression, i.e. "1,2,3,4").
- fix unitialized variable used when reading from sockets that would
cause a hang.
- add comterp commands for the value of PI (pi), converting radians to
degrees (radtodeg), and converting degrees to radians (degtorad).
- add new matrix transpose command (xpose), which takes a 2d list of numbers
(i.e. a matrix), and transposes them.
- add a matrix addition capability to the comterp "+" operator.
- add matrix multiplication to comterp "*" operator.
- extend matrix multiply to support vector inputs.
- add support for panning with cursor keys (left/right/up/down) as well
as Page Up and Page Down (PgUp/PgDn) for larger vertical moves.
- greatly improve the efficiency of rendering alpha-transparent
rasters with a TrueColor visual. Prior to this each input color was
being looked up in a table that could be as long as 2 to the 24th,
then the weighed average computed in floating point, then the result
rescaled into a TrueColor color. Now everything is done with nothing
more than 32 bit integer multiplies, adds, and shifts. Performance
has gone from a multi-second lag to adequately interactive.
- rename "Custom Tools" to "Extra Tools".
- migrate Attribute, Annotate, and GraphicLoc to "Extra Tools".
- add a :next flag to comdraw's import func. It attempts to
auto-increment the numerics in the last URL and import again.
- sync with diffs from latest Debian release (ivtools-0.9.2-6).
- add gcc-2.96 warning to INSTALL and README files
- remove installation of extraneous scripts when non-local install.
- save/restore raster alpha-transparency value in drawing documents.
- create AlphaTransparentCmd and make available under Edit/"Image Processing"
- create raster peek command for comdraw (RasterPeekFunc).
* Updated autogen.sh for new versions of automake
* Specify the SDL API calling convention (C by default)
* Worked around exit() in the jpeg image library
Patch provided by Juan RP in PR pkg/19311 with some modifications by me.
to ~/.mplayer/font (mentioned in MESSAGE, and in documentation for mplayer).

Phew!
xdvipresent provides glue for developing slides for on-line presentation using
LaTeX and xdvi, and a (portable) computer with a XGA (1024x768), SVGA
(800x600), VGA (640x480), or SUN (1152x900) screen running Xwindows. The idea
is that you prepare the slides in LaTeX with the enclosed style file(s) and
you use the "xdvipresent" script (which simply calls xdvi with an appropriate
set of options) to show the slides on the screen.
This package provides a convenient style for slideshow presentations as well.
XXX I was not able to make dynagraph working, hence it is still disabled.
Package changes: documentation distributed in two directories
i.e. $PREFIX/share/doc/{html/,}graphiz/.
ChangeLog entry since previous packaged version.
September 27, 2002
- declare this version 1.8.10
- general
- various configure.in fixes and simplifications
- change configure to now build dynagraph by default
"--without-dynagraph" is supported
- fix graphviz.spec.in to partition packages properly
graphviz no longer depends on graphviz-tcl.
- Makefile.old cleanups
- configure.old now set version number automatically from
configure.in

- Bug fix - when pack=true and ratio is set
- Bug fix - agraph/scan.l to work with latest flex beta
when the capabilities of the running X11 server differ from the X11 server
on the system for which the package is meant. We now try to guess the
Mesa version number based on which OpenGL specification is implemented.
Separate out the logic into its own file, Mesa/version.mk, and use it in
MesaLib's and glu's buildlink2.mk files.
Note that Mesa/version.mk should only be used by the Mesa packages and is
_not_ for general use.
X11PREFIX != X11BASE (xpkgwedge is installed). Introduce a new variable
MESA_REQD that defaults to "3.4.2" and represents the version of Mesa/GL
needed by a package. MESA_REQD is intended to be used by package Makefiles
or by buildlink2.mk files.
It should now be possible to update this package to the latest release
(5.0), and have it work on:
* XF86-3.x with or without xpkgwedge
* XF86-4.x with xpkgwedge
* update Fontmap[.GS] detection (guesswork, really) (fjf)
* don't include trio.h when --disable-heavy is used (fjf)
* remember to update both version numbers in configure.ac!
* move player.h's defs into metadefs.h for recorder.c (fjf)
* add some missing "extern"s (c. Jeremy Shane Sanders)
* added recorder.h & libwmf/canvas.h; call it Canvas now (fjf)
libMagick.so libraries to be API compatible, and they don't want to
handle proper ELF versioning, but have the "real" version number in
the library. To spare us the pkgsrc maintenance nightmare, follow their
example. Bump PKGREVISION.
Changes:
* Verify sanity of sysconf(_SC_PAGE_SIZE) and sysconf(_SC_PHYS_PAGES)
before using their values.
* Corrected bug in image geometry height calculation.
* PingBlob() improperly set the length memory of BlobInfo to zero.
* Fixed Ping() memory leak in PerlMagick.
* Fixed -map problem in convert/mogrify utilities.

o Remove 'Set' from the names of draw.h functions which update the
current affine transformation array (e.g. DrawSetRotate becomes
DrawRotate).
* Under Windows, a DllMain function which automatically initializes
ImageMagick (when ImageMagick is built using DLLs) may be added by
defining ProvideDllMain in magick_config.h
* Added resource consumption methods, see magick/resource.c.
* Replaced underscores in commandline options with hyphens. For backward
compatibility, underscores will continue to be recognized.
* Added -blue-primary, -green-primary, -red-primary, -white-point options.
* Added BMP2 and BMP3 output formats.
* Changed chromaticity primary.z from 1.0 to 1.0-(primary.x+primary.y)
in the PNG and PCD codecs.
* Added 'exception' parameter to the ImageMagick progress monitor API.
* Added enumerated types for the dispose member of the Image structure.
* Added -version option to commandline utilities.
* The xcf decoder would sometimes create artifacts when reading RLE-encoded
grayscale images, due to the green and blue samples not being defined.
* Added logging capabilities to the CORE API. This facility is useful
for debugging. Added "events" parameter to the -debug commandline option.
* AcquireImagePixels() did not always return the same pixel values
for virtual pixels when the cache was stored on disk (very rare).
* new -virtual-pixel command line option.
* new PerlMagick virtual-pixel image attribute.
pkgsrc changes:
fix include files -- they used autoconf HAVE_XXX defines
Changes:
- The support for the JP2 format has been improved.
- The support for the PNM family of formats has been improved (and
should now be truly complete).
- Numerous other minor bugs have been fixed.
[The new program jiv (jasper image viewer) is disabled, since it
needs X11 and OpenGL. It will be commited as a separate package.]
* added requested screen-clip option (allows you to disable window size
clipping based on screen geometry; ie, you can make pathologically
large windows, assuming you have the images to do so)

"Too much data" in pngpread.c and about
"Extra compressed data" in pngrutil.c.
* Prevent png_ptr->pass from exceeding 7 in
png_push_finish_row().
* Updated png.c and pnggccrd.c handling of return from
png_mmx_support() [Doesn't apply to the package.]
* Only issue png_warning() about "Too much data" in
pngpread.c when avail_in is nonzero.
* Relocated two misplaced PNGAPI lines in pngtest.c

Plug In Drawing, Does Little Else. A cross-platform drawing library for
Python.
PIDDLE is a Python module for creating two-dimensional graphics in a manner
that is both cross-platform and cross-media; that is, it can support screen
graphics (e.g. QuickDraw, Windows, Tk) as well as file output (PostScript,
PDF, GIF, etc.). It makes use of the native 2D drawing calls of each backend,
for maximum efficiency and quality. It works by defining a base class
(piddle.Canvas) with methods for all supported drawing primitives. A
particular drawing context is provided in the form of a derived class. PIDDLE
applications will be able to automatically select an appropriate backend for
the user's environment.
collection.
A RenderMan compliant renderer. Based on the REYES architecture,
Aqsis is designed for speed and memory efficiency. Complete
implementation of programmable shading.
This release contains dozen of fixes for various problems reported by
users, including ones related to DVD/VOB subtitles disappearing, mms://
streaming, and fullscreen switching under Metacity and KDE 3.1. libaf, the
