The goal is to drive the hoovercraft (O) trough the level into the 'at' sign (@) and reach as much points as possible by reducing the number of moves and don't losing any time. Add blobandconquer. Blob and Conquer is a mission and objective based 3D action game. This is episode 2 of the Blob Wars saga (see /usr/ports/games/blobwars). With the apparent defeat of Galdov and the reclaiming of the Fire, Time, Space and Reality Crystals the Blobs' battle was only just beginning. Bob had rescued many Blobs and fought many battles, but now he had an ever bigger task ahead of him. The Blobs' homeworld is still littered with the alien forces and Bob once again makes it his task to lead the counter attack. But even without Galdov the aliens are still extremely well organised... Clone of the strategy board game 'Blokus'. Four players must place as many of their 21 pieces on the board as possible while preventing others from doing the same. This is made difficult by the fact that a piece played by a player must touch another of the player's pieces, but only at their corners (a player's first piece must touch a board corner). The game is over when no player can play any new pieces. The winner is the player with the fewest & smallest pieces remaining. Bonus points are awarded for playing all pieces. Add cake 2004.07.09, Cake is pretty advanced Quake III Arena map viewer. It features BSP support, multiple viewports, sound, models, record/playback demo support and plenty more. Right now, sound support is disabled since cake uses FMOD library which is not available on FreeBSD. I hope to resolve this issue in the future though. Childsplay is a 'suite' of educational games for young children, like gcompris, but without the overkill of GNOME environment. Also the use of the SDL libraries makes smooth animation and the playing of sound very easy. Childsplay uses a plugin system for the games, so you might want to check the childsplay-plugins page. GalaxyHack allows you to design a fleet of spaceships which can then be tested in AI script based battles against fleets designed by other players. Though battles take place in real time, the strategy comes before hand, both in writing short AI scripts in a simple scripting language, and also in the set up and selection of your fleet. You don't actually have any control over your units at all mid-battle, but rather use the time to see where the set up of your fleets is working, where your fleets' weaknesses lie and changes are needed, and perhaps also to learn from the strategy of your opponent. The game revolves around very large capital ships, from which smaller ships are launched. To win a battle you must destroy of all of your opponent's capital ships before they destroy yours. There can be hundreds of units in any one battle, but there is no harvesting, resource management or base building. Welcome to the Brain Games remake of the 8 bit classic game 'The Goonies'. This game was made by Konami in 1986. There were both a NES version and an MSX version of the game; this remake is based on the MSX version. This remake was made for the 2006 competition organized by Retro Remakes. After having participated in 2003 (with Road Fighter, which finished on the 7th place out of 83 entries), and in 2004 (with F-1 Spirit, gaining the 13th place amongst the 73 contestants), we decided to give another go at the first prize! GtkRadiant is a level design program developed by id Software and Loki Software. It is used to create maps for a number of computer games. GtkRadiant originated as Q3Radiant, the Quake III Arena level design tool, which was a Windows-only application. Some patches applied to fix a few bugs were: deskutils/kdepim3: [1] Remove kpilot from build because it wasn't ready at release. editors/koffice-kde3: [2] Fix compile time bugs for FreeBSD. misc/kdeedu3: [3] Fix compile problem with kvoctrain. x11/kdebase3: [4] Fix KDM CPU usage and login bug. Some caveats: * All PLISTs are broken for deinstall due to script bug that I didn't notice until very recently. This will be fixed when I commit an update tomorrow. These ports should still install perfectly fine though. They should also deinstall without giving errors, but will leave directories behind. * You can't install this with any other version of QT or KDE already installed. I am not sure the checks are 100% working, but fixes for these will be forthcoming. This is mainly due to a policy decision made by kde@ to make QT/KDE ports install the way the rest of the world expects it to while also still conforming to FreeBSD's hier(7). For reference on this decision, please consult the KDE/FreeBSD mailing list archives. This decision fixes 2-year-old bug reports relating to how we handled this for KDE2 vs KDE1. Jaymod is an add-on modification to RTCW: Enemy Territory. The idea for Jaymod came from the main features of Shrubmod. Shrubmod has long been out of date and unsupported, and with the instability issues that come with Shrubmod, something had to be done to get a Shrub-like server-side mod that would provide most of Shrub's features, be stable, and be supported. This mod has, obviously, outgrown the original objective of being server-side only. Some of the ideas I wanted to implement could not be done with server code only, so the decision was made to start working on the client end as well. I wanted this to be as easy as possible for end users, and now only one pak needs to be downloaded (on the fly) to be able to play this mod. [New port] games/quake4 id Software has released Linux binaries for Quake 4! Hooray! They seem to work on FreeBSD as well (worked on my machine, about 5 FPS ;-)). There isn't a port for it at the moment, so I've made one. I don't feel like maintaining it, because I can't really test it on my machine. The port isn't complete; There isn't a switch to install dedicated only (wouldn't be hard though) and I guess we shouldn't be able to build packages from it. You control an army of liquid and have to try and eat your opponents. A single player mode is available, but the game is definitely designed to be multiplayer, and has network support. When playing Liquid War, one has to eat one's opponent. There can be from 2 to 6 players. There are no weapons, the only thing you have to do is to move a cursor in a 2-D battlefield. This cursor is followed by your army, which is composed by a great many little fighters. Fighters are represented by small colored squares. All the fighters who have the same color belong to the same team. One very often controls several thousands fighters at the same time. The goal of this project is to add Cell Shading capabilities to the Quake III engine with Real-time performance. In order to provide such feature we have decided to use Kuwahara filter. Kuwahara filter is a noise-reduction filter that preserves edges. It uses four subquadrants to calculate the mean and variance and chooses the mean value for the region with the smallest variance. To increase the hand-painted effect we have decided to apply a simple blur filter to reduce hard-edges on textures and increase the flatness effect. To produce the cell shading effect we use no graphics card shaders, so our implementation could run with almost any gfx card. The edge effect is produced by painting backface polygons with a thick wireframe without textures and repaint all the scene, but this time, with textures. We have also implemented a different algorithm (we call it White Texture), which uses white textures. It looks like this and this, you can set the console variable r_celshadalgo to 2, and load another map, or run using the appropiate link that came with the release. If this comes into contact with a bad guy he will be absorbed into the gas and then float around the screen for a limited time. Bad guys are harmless in this state. Puff and Blow must suck the floating gas clouds into their guns and blast them out against a vertical surface. Bad guys then turn into bonuses which can be collected. Transmission time is counted against you, unless the chess server can tell exactly when information is transmitted. The timeseal program acts as a relay station and keeps track of transmission times. What timeseal does is record your thinking time, so that transmission time is not counted against you. Timeseal will not prevent netlag but it makes the games fairer when lag occurs. Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense (to some degree), healing functions and much more... Player advancement is different depending on which team you are on. As a human, players are rewarded with credits for each alien kill. These credits may be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the "Armoury". The alien team advances quite differently. Upon killing a human foe, the alien is able to evolve into a new class. The more kills gained the more powerful the classes available. The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. Worms was created in 1990, the goal of the game consisting of a several teams of "worms" fighting to the death on a 2D map. New port: xrally XRally is a Linux clone of the classic Rally X arcade game. For those who don't know, in Rally X you control a blue (good) car, that has to collect yellow flags around a maze-like map, while avoiding the red (bad) cars. In order to help himself, the blue car can use clouds of smoke through the maze. If a enemy touch any of these clouds, it stops for a while. The enemy cars can also crash one with the other, what gives you some extra time.
